Randle would obviously be traded as salary filler in a Westbrook deal.
I really feel like they have a trade lined up with Houston for Brodie, just like they did with OKC for CP3...but the price was just too much. They would rather have CP3, especially with one less year on it, but they moved on to Russ who would cost them less.
It don’t make sense to bring Brodie here by himself. And Hayward is honestly one of the best swings on the market and fills many needs and has many connections in our new organization.
I can’t see them trying to sign Hayward only to pair him with VanVleet.
And it definitely seems we’re making our push...
Absolutely frightening we put this much effort into Hayward. He' opted out in Boston. He said his preferred spot is Indy. Indy (allegedly offered Turner) and got nowhere. We are being played. Why wouldn't Boston take that deal? Hayward is decent but why are we investing so much time in this with lower years if he wants Indy? How can we possibly think Haymard would be good for RJ's development? Is Hayward gonna accept a Korver role? For that coin? If we come away with this dude, Leon got taken.
The point is RJ (in college and as a rookie) needs the ball to be in his hand to be effective. Off ball is not his thing. He's not a shooter and he's not a slasher. Same for Hayward, though Hayward is better at this stage. Add Obi, and this Westbrook talk. How in the world is RJ going to fit? He was supposed to be the cornerstone and we are building him out of town.
