Remember Micky made the call to axe McGruder to avoid the tax. Must be a trade brewing, but for who.

The Lakers just won the championship and improved their team by trading for Dennis and now adding Harrell and Matthews while not sacrificing cap space for next year. We just finished in second place and satisfied with just “running it back” lol

I don't see the Lakers that much better to be honest. Dwight Howard was one of the reasons we lost, and he's gone. Danny Green wasn't much good but he's Heat Kryptonite just because of the Spurs. Harrell and Matthews will mostly improve their (already very good) defense. I do not consider Dennis Schroeder to be a game changer.

I think Pat thinks our team will be better because our players will improve by playing together. He's not wrong. I would like reinforcements too, but I haven't seen one contract I like yet of any significance.

He has set up the team so we can exploit problems of other teams at the trade deadline. I like it. Let's not be stupid and concentrate on bringing our new players into the fold. Massive development time for KZ and Gollum. We got it.

My hunch? We’re gonna get PJ Tucker as our new Crowder.

2nd year better be a team option, has to be. Even if it is, that's a lot of money for a dude who barely played in the playoffs.
Could be also to they needed contracts with enough money where they are tradeable in case a star is available.

I've calmed down a bit from my initial reaction and thought of this as well, together with a possible incoming trade of KO

At least we still got the MLE

I still can't get over it :banghead:

Wes Mathews just signed for 3.6Mil after playing lockdown defense on Butler and hitting 3s at a good clip. And we paid Leonard 9Mil to cheerlead. I'm hoping this is all a prep for a trade

I'm in the same boat, I can't believe we have Leonard 10 Mil this year, while Crowder is still un-decided.

Crowder is a lot more important, Why waste so much money on basically a 3 Mil per backup C.

That's BS.

If we lose Crowder, it's because we overpay Leonard.

Crowder >> Leonard.

Now we can't overpay Crowder because it will prevent us from using the full MLE

Cmon, they are better. If you had Danny Green, Rondo and Howard you wouldn't trade them for Harrell, Schroeder and Matthews?

The Leonard one is puzzling. Really puzzling.

I mean, it doesn’t hurt us long term as it’s not a long term deal...but the terms are fairly egregious. Particularly when you see what guys like Harrell just signed for.

Are we even sure Meyers is going to play much next season? Team played its best ball with him waving towels tbh.

Matthews and Harrell took less to sign with the Lakers. Its important to note that, its not like Matthews passed up 3 mil offers from other teams and took what he thought was the best, its a ring chasing move..perks of being the champion. Also Danny Green is a 15 mil expiring/reasonably desirable contract that they were able to package with a pick for Schroder. Its not an apples to apples comparison.

I was hoping for Gallinari or Wood and Got Leonard for basically the same money. WTH.

Wood got 14 per. Leonard 10.

Why do we need Kelly + Leonard + Precious + Bam?

A trade has to be coming..we're missing something..this can't be it...

Yeah I agree this is nonsense. The priorities should have always been Dragic then Crowder. It's also not even about stressing over the Leonard deal its about improving the team. There are better options out there over bringing Leonard back and Leonard would have always been an option for us. No ones first move in free agency was going to be signing Myers Leonard.

CHEAPER THEN EXPECTED?!

YOU EXPECTED LEONARD GETTING THE FULL MAX?!?!?

Why in gods name did we prioritize Leonard over crowder?

Crowder clearly wants a long-term deal or he would have signed. We have plenty of money to make him a fair offer. If you want to get pissed, be pissed about losing Jones Jr.

Jae may sign a 1+1 with us still. Otherwise, I would expect him to sign a 3 year deal elsewhere for MLE or a little more. As we discussed before that's fair value. If he wants Marcus Morris money on a 3 year deal fuggetaboutit.
