Jae may sign a 1+1 with us still. Otherwise, I would expect him to sign a 3 year deal elsewhere for MLE or a little more. As we discussed before that's fair value. If he wants Marcus Morris money on a 3 year deal fuggetaboutit.
The well is drying fast, for as much as he’s been romanticized in this thread no team has been anxious to throw a multi year deal at a journeyman. Maybe his pal Thibodeau gets desperate after striking out on Hayward. Or the Clippers, they’re really bombing FA so far.
The well wasn't very good to begin with imho. Anthony Davis was the only player I wanted and that ship sailed when the Lakers beat us. I like that we remain flexible.
With respect to the players that we have "missed" on:
(1) Gallo signed a huge deal with the Hawks. This could come back to haunt them. It is exactly the kind of deal he wanted which we were smart not to give.
(2) I like Wood's deal. I *LOVE* Harrell's deal but we don't need him. Pass on Wesley Matthews.
(3) Bummed about missing out on Jones Jr, but he wanted a guaranteed 2nd season.
Pat is focused on next offseason or the trade deadline. I think he's right. Wood & Gallo are not going to get you past the Lakers.
