This sounds about right. It would seem Indy has a bit of leverage. But I wonder If Hayward would really want to go to the Knicks. I'm sure his agent is talking to them and he needs to get an offer to try to force Danny to make a trade. But at the end of the day will he really sign a contract to play on the Knicks? Feel like he's not a NYC kind of guy and the fans will crucify him once he gets hurt there.

I have a feeling this will not be resolved quickly. If I were Indy I would think Ainge will eventually cave and take something over nothing.

Lambs position fits though right? Why not keep him?

Coming off injury. Plus we can get a better or equal player in FA using the MLE while also avoiding the tax.

PG: Kemba | Pritchard | Waters
SG: Smart | Edwards | Langford
SF: Brown | Lamb | Nesmith
PF: Tatum | GWill | Semi
C : Turner | Theis | Timelord

Seems like a decent team

we are NOT taking back Lamb !
its warren dipo or doughy+pick

Guys. Hayward is going to Indy. Period. Boston is looking for best deal possible even if that means pulling in a third team. Hence the extension, hence why it still isn’t done. Hayward/Stevens relationship is very very close. Stevens saying on broadcast he has no idea is a straight up lie. He does and has. That’s how this works. Deal is gonna get done. Hayward is a Pacer. His family is likely already there.

What makes you think the Knicks want to be tied up w GH for 4yrs ??! NY needs to want Hayward for 4yrs for your theory to have merit. Nothing is saying NY wants that !

How do people feel about Bryn Forbes from the Spurs, couldn't he be a good low key free agent target for us? A sharpshooter who comes from a good organisation who isn't high maintenance.

That feeling right as you’re falling asleep when your eyes are fading. That’s how I feel. Can draft or bring in a rookie controlled player like that every single year. Literally every single year there’s a Forbes

i get indy wants to keep TJ, but i don't get why they're so keen on holding on to dipo. turner+dipo are both guys they are happy to get rid of. we could add enough pupu platter salary to make it work like javonte and carsen, maybe even romeo.

Plus the Knicks aren't even matching the per year total from what I've seen. Knicks are trash its either indy or Boston.

Danny is a savage. He knows Indy his bit harder $$ wise because of covid. That’s just a fact. Smaller market team and they have no space. They are looking to unload on Danny but Danny knows that he has Leverage.

I had a feeling that Danny & Hayward would wake up at 3:50am, middle of the night and decide. Sham would drop a bomb.. but I guess I should go back to sleep

That's a lazy response and you know it. If we could bring in a 40% three point shooter on 5 attemps every single year, we should have seen one in the last couple of years. But what are our best guards of the bench in the last five to ten years (besides Smart)?

It's widely confirmed that his family as already there. Why do you say "probably"?

If it were me (good thing I'm no GM) Myles + McDermott + 1st round pick and we move on.

Hayward signed a huge contract here and hasn't lived up to it. I presume that bothers him. As long as he feels Boston was trying in good faith to get a fair deal from Indy, why wouldn't we be his fallback position?

Unless, of course, he gets an offer from a team in a city where Robyn would be willing to move to, way ahead of Boston.

I'm guessing Indy has utterly ruled out Warren and effectively ruled out Oladipo -- but Ainge simply doesn't want McDermott, and may be counteroffering that the deal beyond Turner be Indy's choice of:

-- Holiday
-- Nothing (plus minor draft compensation)
-- McDermott (plus non-trivial draft compensation).

That would leave Indy to canvass other teams to see what version they can pull off in the least costly manner.

Idk, the knicks have the money to spend. Hayward is a name casual fans might know ie help with ticket sales and help keep the team somewhat relevant. They could also trade him later. If Indy would trade assets for him, NYK wouldn't take him for free? I don't think he goes there but I think he gets a team like NYK or ATL to make him an offer so he can use the as leverage to force his way to Indy.
