Hopefully there's a trade for a starter in the pipeline, I'd love to see Myers backup Aldridge next season.

Jimmy, Bam, Herro, Dragic those are your ceiling raisers. To a far lesser extent Nunn. Crowder played well but in the end he’s not someone to sacrifice the 2021 game plan for.

Nobody wanted to give Crowder extra years, But with Kelly opting in we could have easily let Leonard walk (Or offer his market value which is 8 Mil less then what we gave him) and then offer Crowder a 1 year balloon deal at around 18+ Mil. You think he's turning that down? me think not.

Yes. Guarantee the next year and he's a $10m contract you can use to get (for example) Oladipo or Kawhi or Giannis or Beal.

There must be something else in the works because we basically have the salaries for that with Olynyk and Iggy already. Maybe we are loading up on sizable 1yr contracts now so we can make a run at 2 max free agents in 2021?

I doubt it. Butler is a max. Bam is a max. Player-3 is a max. Player 3 needs to be someone special. All we have to do is not mess up and sign Westbrook or Oladipo etc. Pay a real star.

I just mean with all large expiring deals we'd have at the end of this season we'd have more than enough in expiring salaries to facilitate S&T's especially if they included Herro and a S&T'd Robinson. It may not be likely but it would be an explorable option for us with these 1yr balloon contracts. We'd still have the opportunity to renounce those and have enough under the cap for at least one max player and resign Bam and Robinson.

He'd definitely fit in personality-wise

what could we give to get him?

I think Pat thinks our team will be better because our players will improve by playing together. He's not wrong. I would like reinforcements too, but I haven't seen one contract I like yet of any significance.

Cmon, they are better. If you had Danny Green, Rondo and Howard you wouldn't trade them for Harrell, Schroeder and Matthews?

Green/Matthews is a wash, though I think Green could have a bounce back season with the 6ers and be better

Howard is a better defender than Harrell, which is more valuable imo

And apparently playoff Rondo is still a thing, so maybe him vs Schroeder is a wash too. Overall, I don't think they have changed their talent level too much (so far), but we will have to see how they fit. Schroeder/Harrell have very different skills than Rondo/Howard

I think you still dont understand that Leonard has no bearing on Crowder’s deal. The team is still 20 million below the tax. They can still offer a balloon deal to Crowder. In fact, I’m 100% sure when free agency started he was offered a ballooned variation of a 1+1, like Leonard and Dragic. He wants a multi year deal, hence the scouring of the market to see if there are any takers. He’s on his 6th team at 30, dont underestimate his desire for security.

I heard a news the Mavs are willing to give Crowder a multi-yr deal which the Heat is unwilling to do.
If the Mavs offered Josh Richardson in a S&T for Jae, should Riley accept it?

I like JJ for Dallas, if they keep him I think he'd add some vet grit to their appeal of being a playoff team

They got someone to get in the face of Morris next time he takes a cheap shot at their players.

you seem to forget we have the full MLE to use, we can't overpay him now and use it, **** Harrel got MLE money.

Instead of paying Crowder and using the MLE, we overpaid Leonard by a ridicules amount (why?) and now we need to chose between MLE and crowder

I think we just have to be patient and see how it all unfolds.

I get it’s disheartening when players are coming off the board and we haven’t done much other than resign Gogi (big) and overpay Leonard, but let’s give the FO the benefit of the doubt. There will be a larger plan at play here.

I got up now and so many news. Lakers's move is mind blowing. They got so much better now with Dennis and the other ring chasers.
I feel like a Heat trade about to go down soon.
The only thing i desire is to get Ibaka. Its seems unreal right now.
I hope we can find a way to get another piece to help us compete this year. I know Herro and Bam will get better but still. The east is not the same.

Really?

Not much change, except Lebron has another year on the clock.

Our goal is clearly not this coming year for the chip but the year after, unless....

Current Roster :

PG :Nunn/Dragic/Vincent

Not great, but hopfully Nunn and Vincent step up and help Goran carry the load

SG : Jimmy/Herro/________

We're set here

SF : Robinson/Iggy/__________

good enough, maybe KZ can play SF too.

PF : Bam/KZ/Precious
+
C : Leonard/Kelly/Precious

If Bam plays PF, we're weak at C. And if Bam plays at C, we're weak at PF.
