So at this point the holdup is between Ainge and Pacers I assume. Hopefully Hayward doesn't get tired of the waiting around and tries to sign elsewhere.

...or it could be Hayward trying to milk more money. We just don't know.

Is McBuckets good? I didn’t know he was still in the league, but his stats are good.

If reports are to be believed, I'm still unsure why Ainge wouldn't want McDermott + Turner. I feel like that's as good as it gets. No way they'd add Warren or a 1st on top of Myles.
Kemba | Brown | Tatum | Grant | Turner
Smart | Langford | Nesmith | McDermott | Theis
Pritchard | Edwards | Green | Gibson | Timelord
$132.33M. That's just under the tax.

Re: Trade Thread #6: I Wood Walk 500 Myles
Hayward had a higher PER and more win shares than Jaylen Brown and averaged around 17/6/4. When it counted most he was unavailable and we are so deep at his position the team can’t pay him market value. It makes no sense however to take on trash from Indiana however to make this deal. Turner intrigues me Due to his potential fit in Brad’s system but he hasn’t been playing up to his contract. If Indiana won’t include Warren let them find a third team to dump McDermott onto or let Hayward go to Knicks.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I can’t imagine he gets Warren unless Smart or somebody else is thrown in.

I never have watched at a game with him and felt aferwards 'wow i want doug on my team'. His boxscore stats might look decent to good but he is a player that has no significant impact either way in my opinion. Just 'meh'.
The 2024 NBA Champions Boston Celtics depth chart:
Guards: Holiday, White, Pritchard
Wings: Tatum, Brown, Hauser
Bigs: Porzingis, Horford, Kornet

Can a sign and trade include other players or picks? If so I wonder if Indy wants Ainge to sweeten the deal. Them getting Romeo would make sense as he's local and that kind of thing seems to matter more there. I get the feeling the pacers goal is just to alway be a decent playoff team and sell tickets.

Because that is an even trade and IMO Ainge thinks that an even trade is a losing trade. I know Oladipo is a question mark with his injures but asking for him or Warren and Turner is asking too much and Indy should justifiably be balking at the trade.

Why was the Ray Allen thread locked? I was looking forward to discussing Rays poor performance in late 2007.

It's also difficult to come up with enough salary from our end to match unless Hayward's 1st year salary comes in at some ridiculous number ($27,488,800) and we add Langford in the deal. We don't want that much salary ($39M) coming back anyway so a third team would have to be involved.
Ainge asking for Turner + Warren is more realistic to me (than the Dipo one). Cs would be willing to part with Langford or Timelord while also go into tax for that type of return. But Pacers wouldn't include Warren in the deal for the same reason we'd want him. He's good, cheap, and has two years left in his contract.
Kemba / Brown / Warren / Tatum / Turner
Smart / MLE / Nesmith / Grant / Theis
Could they get there by including Ojelye and Edwards (or Green)?

"Meh" sounds about right. 10-15 mpg guy on our team. Would still take him over Semi 'cos he at least has a reputation as a real shooter and would help space the floor. At worst, he's trade ballast if a better player becomes available midseason. If Cs/Pacers can find a team with cap space or large-enough TPE who's willing to take him on, they can re-route him there. Cs could then use a huge chunk of the full MLE on an FA, if there are still good ones left when this deal is done.

Ainge asking for Dipo over Turner maybe. Dipo ducks but less than Turner and he expires to match Tatums extension.

I think the person who made that thread used the name Ray Allen instead of Gordan Hayward. Or maybe where he is from it is the year 2007?

The hold up is really pretty obvious, Ainge is trying to throw family members, coaching staff, gym equipment etc into the trade to get max return. He can't trade Doc again but he might have an autographed photo he can throw in for a future second.

Turner & McDermott = Hayward.
Why make it complicated?
Because it's too much money coming back, even if Edwards goes out with Hayward. You don't want to be up against the tax line in case their is an opportunity to add a mid-season buyout. Bottom line is that Turner is not a good value 18 million contract. That's thet's the whole point. Taking those two off Indiana's books for Hayward is a huge win for Indiana. Worth a minimum of an unprotected 1rst Round pick + a second round pick, and I am negotiating lightly. I'd love to play poker with you. There's a reason I win..

For Oladipo + Turner? Hayward (declining $100M/4 yr contract) + Langford + one of Edwards/Green/Semi gets you there.

But would absolutely need to include Langford still, right?
