Atlanta is going to score infinity points, but give up infinity + 1 on defense.

i thought Collins was pretty good last year, but they just paid $20 mill for a guy who plays his position

If he’s available, count me in as well. He’s the type of guy who does his job, is physical and the young bigs can learn from. They’re not gonna learn **** from Whiteside. Everywhere he leaves you hear about him from his teammates.

Baynes also shoots it pretty well from 3.

Teams not in the market for starting centers:

Bucks - Lopez
Sixers - Embiid
Nets - Allen, Jordan
Magic - Vucevic
Hawks - Capela, Okongwu
Heat - Bam
Pacers - Sabonis, Turner
Knicks - Robinson
Cavs - Drummond
Bulls - Carter Jr.
Wizards - Bryant
Pistons - Stewart
Warriors - Wiseman
Rockets - Wood
Nuggets - Jokic
Lakers - Harrell
Kings - Bagley, Holmes
Pelicans - Adams
Blazers - Nurkic
Thunder - Horford
Grizzlies - Valanciunas
Wolves - KAT
Jazz - Gobert
Suns - Ayton
Clippers - Zubac

Teams in the market for a starting center

Raptors
Celtics
Hornets
Mavs

Best centers available

Myles Turner
Ibaka
Horford
WCS

Looks like we're kicking the can down the road on a long-term solution. We're probably looking at a stop gap but do any short term fixes really fit the system we want to develop? Kupchak has never overpaid and he's been patient but so far no reward.

The first night of free agency is always insanely stupid. It's when absurd money gets handed out. The good value deals come afterwards.

It looks like the Hornets enjoy smart company at a time when the best center available is Myles Turner. He's a win-now piece but also a long-term solution at his position.

The aftermarket specials will be Ibaka, Horford and WCS. Giles could be a dark horse. Looks like the Pacers need about 25 M in cap to sign Gordon Hayward.

Furthermore, Harden to the Nets would mean Rockets likely add Jarrett Allen after signing Wood, so Allen is a trade possibility as well.

I will not be surprised to see us sign Hayward. Jordan has liked that guy for years. I’m 50/50 on it because I don’t think an acquisition like that changes our landscape enough in a meaningful way. I don’t want to compete for the 7th or 8th seed I want us to be good enough for the top 4 spots. One more year of development and a high draft pick plus free agents next off season may set us up for that scenario better than adding a free agent like Hayward to this current group unless one of our existing developmental players takes a huge Devonte-like jump this season.

I think Bogdonavic is more likely than Hayward but suspect Bogdon is going to the Hawks or Bucks.

We have 19 in cap. Myles Turner fits perfectly. But Hayward wants 25 per from the Pacers.

I'm surprised that Brandon Ingram hasn't gotten paid yet. What's up with that?

Every time you say “Myles Turner” does a fairy get a new pair of Jordan XI’s or something?

Agree 100%. I checked the news last night before bed and my only thought was "I hope we haven't signed anyone yet" for that exact reason. Day one is strictly for making it rain and we really don't need to do that right now.

I know my fixations are a running punchline but the board is still weening off MKG-DNP-CD's teet going on the tail end of a decade.

Who's a better young center option than Myles Turner? Don't say some dude in the 2026 draft. Kupchak was ready to oust Zeller with Harrell just last night. Or did you forget?

That being said, the move to sign Harrell reflects we're balking at the price of Myles Turner. Stil, with 19 M we can absorb him into cap but it seems the Celtics are holding the Pacers hostage. They're asking for Turner and Warren for Hayward. It's just cruel.

I'd be kinda sad if Kupchak orchestrated a sign and trade of Hayward for Turner and screwed the Celtics because of Kemba. But it would be hilarious and awesome all the same.

I'm confused. Who goes where in this scenario?

Hayward is a UFA right now, he doesn't have to do anything with the Celtics. We can just sign him and immediately trade him to Indiana for Turner and bypass the Celtics completely. Also, the Pacers can't get him unless the Celtics or some other team with cap space (i.e. us) signs and trades him there.

That's assuming Hayward isn't asking for a $100 million dollar deal. He might be, but I doubt anyone outside of the Knicks will give him that much.

Your continual posting about the same stuff in every other thread over and over and UNCNYC’s continual posting about his big board in every other thread and bobsbuddy continual posting about us trading everything for Westbrook in every other thread is the “Edwards/Wiseman/Ball” debate of who is 1, 2 or 3 of this board.
