I think Pat could be on the verge of becoming a much better 3-point shooter. That could be the saving grace for this deal, which looks bad on the surface. He is Giannis's workout buddy though, and that's worth something. He doesn't really have a position but he rebounds well enough to be a small-ball 4 in extreme up-tempo lineups.

Please don't make me talk myself into anybody worse than this. The Jrue deal has me rethinking my whole life.

Love to see Pat is back. Did not love to see Wes looking to sign with the Lakers. Really? That’s too bad.

In fairness they got an impact player (Jrue). Probably the most impactful player they've acquired via trade since........fill in the blank, I can't remember.

The issue is that they gave up an unprecedented four years of drafts, four years into the future. So yes, if none of this works out, I fully expect the Lasry's to sell 51% control of the team to some guy in Seattle for one billion. They'd then use that money to pay off the arena debt ($250mm) per terms of the lease.

No doubt.

If Giannis bounces, this team is gone.

It’d be an aging team with no young assets or draft pick for 7(!) years into the future. It’d be bleak as hell. No way investment guys from New York don’t wash their hands of the mess they made and cash out.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

Agreed. Amazing to think we only gave up a boat anchor contract in Monroe and a lottery protected first for him.

I just wanted to say that. Bledsoe looked like impact player when we traded for him just as much as Jrue looks now.

Jrue is bigger and our superstar wants to be PG so Jrue (who is SG really) fits better. Also we had to shake things to build hope again. And Bledsoe was bad in playoffs so Jrue should be upgrade anyway you look at that. But we paid too much for that upgrade.

One of my top offseason priorities: adding enough wing depth that we dont have to play Pat Connaughton in the playoffs again.

Gross.

Anyway, we still need starting SG and reserve big. What is left on market?

The ranking of players is questionable, but this is actually a pretty good list...

What i believe happened was that they wanted Schroder and Bogdan, Lakers took Schroder and then the only choice was Holiday but they overpaid so much for him and now they can't do anything else if you consider the 10 millions that he cost us over Schroder.

As i said before Schroder/ Bogdan ,2 first round picks and 10 million more to work with is a much better situation for us than just Holiday, you had Ersan for a sign and trade with one of the 2 first round picks we gave for Holiday or even use them to bring a better big replacing Lopez or cut Ersan like we did and have good money to spend for 2,3 really good free agents to fix your bench, a lot of opportunities.

If we gave up 3 round picks and salary for Holiday and we end just with him and a player like Augustin then sorry but Giannis must be stupid to sign, i m waiting to see what they can do to turn this around.

I’d definitely be looking at Harry Giles.

Avery Bradley and Jeff Teague for the backup guard positions maybe. Already bookmarked Donte to be our starting shooting guard next season, cannot believe it but trying to adopt the is what it is mentality.

Still plenty of players left I'd like.

PGs: Teague, Augustine, Mudiay, Ferrell
Wings: KCP, Harrison
Combo forwards: Harkless, Whittington
PF/C: Giles
C: Len, Baynes

Avery Bradley and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. KCP will get overpaid but the Bucks have to try to impress Giannis with the MLE. Avery Bradley hasn't been good for several years, but in the right situation maybe he can recapture that consummate glue guy magic he had with the Celtics, the same way Crowder did last year with the Heat.

It's a bad situation. I would kill to have Hill back. He could back-up Holiday or play alongside either him or DDV.

For me:

PG: Jevon Carter, Reggie Jackson, Elfrid Payton, MCW, Tremont Waters

Wings/forwards: Harrison, KCP, Crowder, Saric, GRIII, Austin Rivers, Damyeon Dotson

C: Noel, WCS, Diallo, Giles

Definitely wish we could make it work with Bogdanovic though

Bryn Forbes with the gravity Giannis creates would be deadly.
