I’m making a run for my first Hall of Shame, I guess y’all noticed but I try to provide semi-quality in the meanwhile.

Talking about Semi, when is the time to accept or deny our option?

Personally i want to keep Hayward and promote him to the be 2nd option behind Jayson and depending on the night the 3rd option behind Jaylen. I love our three wing line up, it was the most attractive to look at and best performing line up in my opinion.

Agree with all of the above. Point forward Gordo would be awesome for our team. Hayward would be the 2nd guy after Kyrie who would choose his hometown over Boston (not that I gave a **** about Irving leaving). WHY AREN'T THERE ANY HOMEGROWN STARS IN NEW ENGLAND?! Are Jared Dudley and Matt Bonner still available?

So asking for the Pacers two best players for a guy who can literally walk out the door and sign elsewhere is negotiating in good faith? I think Ainge is good at his job in regards to trades. However, this is a different kind of circumstance where the player is able to legitimately control the situation and sign with the Knicks if these trade negotiations draw out. He's operating like that isn't an option. Sure maybe there's something he knows that we all don't but asking the other team for their two best players is not negotiating in good faith at all.

I've criticized Ainge many times in the past, but one only has to read your comments on this page to see your consistent criticism. I have no problem with criticism when it is fair. In this case after analyzing the details of the situation, the criticism is unwarranted. If I was to poll the commenters on this page do you think that they would believe that you don't have an Ainge bias?

I've mentioned many times. Top of the draft he's great. Trades he's excellent. But he's not above criticism. This is something that is teed up for him to keep a contract on the books. The return doesn't matter as much as keeping the money with the team because if they don't they will lose the ability to match a deal with a star player coming onto the market over the next year or two that would normally pass on coming to Boston as a FA. Tatum is about to be maxed out. The Celtics will not be FA players for a while. This is their chance.

Myles Turner is 24, has shot 34% or better from 3pt the last 4 years (and on decent volume), is a good FT shooter for a big man (~75%) and averages 2+ blocks per game. He's also durable and a good guy who seems to get along with our core guys well (USA basketball teammates).

Underrated stat -- especially for our big men -- he averages less than 3 fouls per game despite being a shot blocker. In 2018-19 he actually averaged more blocks than fouls per game. By comparison, Theis averaged 3.4 fouls per game in 24 minutes, with 1.3 blocks per game.

Point being, Myles Turner is not a bum and he definitely makes us better in a key spot of weakness.

Not a bum, but also overpaid and probably a negative or neutral asset at best. That's why we need Dipo or Warren thrown in.

Only leverage Hayward has is that he could just say F it I just sign with Indy for whatever money they can give me. Maybe Robyn has a very bad influence and if he already got a free PS5 he might really consider it.

The Celtics wanted him to opt in. He wanted a long term deal - rumor has it at 100 mil over 4 years. Celtics seem to prefer letting him walk for nothing than paying that money. So why would they be okay paying 25 million to two guys who are less productive? Stats aren’t everything but paying 25 million for 12/6 (McDermott won’t get any PT) when you don’t want to pay that for 18/6/4 is idiotic. I understand Indiana’s viewpoint but it means jack to me. We don’t want two nickels for a quarter even if we might lose the quarter for nothing.

If the Celtics wanted Gordon to opt in, that means they were comfortable with spending $34 million for at least this year. Doug McDermott is an expiring contract. After next year, it’s just $18 million for Turner. The hesitation doesn’t make a lot of sense, imo. Taking back an expiring isn’t an unusual ask, and if that’s what is holding this up, Danny will go with it sooner or later. You don’t break a deal over a tiny expiring contract, imo.

Just thought to myself Danny Ainge plays golf, he must take forever before he hits a 3 foot putt.

Get the deal done already!

I’m fine with a rotation of him, Theis and the Timelord. Think they all still have some growth in ‘em.

(I hope Theis could really add a few inches)
