Full MLE for Jae and BAE for Baynes. Unless we get TJ Warren back.

The irony would probably not be lost on Jae, if Hayward replaced him for 3 years and disappointed, then Jae was brought back to replace him. Hayward obviously the better player, but if we just kept Jae the last 3 years would we have been better off?

This is the thing. Hayward **** over Utah the same way when he signed with us.... all of free agency had ended before he got out of his World of Warcraft 40 day raid to decide to look at his offers.

I don't think the lineup of

Kemba
Smart
Brown
Tatum
Turner

Is better than

Kemba
Brown
Hayward
Tatum
Theis

At all.... in fact I think it's a pretty obvious downgrade as Hayward > Smart and Theis > Turner (but due to Smart's obvious offensive weakness we'd need the shooting of Tuner on the court instead of Theis of we'll just fall against the zone again). But I can't wait till Hayward is off this **** team and we can move forward.

So **** frustrating and honestly against the precedent of ALL his peers with their decision making and in that way really **** over his peers financially by taking away offers from them and the teams negotiating with him as they're losing opportunities to better their team once he **** finally signs a **** contract.

This isn’t his decision making this time though. He’s made it loud and clear he wants Indy. It’s now a negotiation between us and them and I don’t blame Ainge for holding Pritchard over a barrel after what happened last time with Paul George

Well that's just rumors. But yes it's one of the two.

If I had to guess though based off history and IND/BOS having months to talk about this deal. I'm going to guess it's the Hayward mulling over the brand new information of his contract options that's holding up the deal much moreso than Ainge.

Should have been a reference to "... miles to go before I sleep".

E.g. Myles to come after we slept.

Slightly improved now!

He might not even want to come back. Seems like an emo dude who holds grudges lol.

Jae would be signed for an average contract and Hayward would have just been traded for Turner.

And the Celts would even be under the tax line so the monetary increase didn't hurt as much (I mean it likely resulted in us losing Rozier as well so that's something to consider).

But yeah hard for Jae to spin that any other way then good business by the Celts.

But when you have 32 teams to sign for... and you're a vet I don't think Jae would want to come here just to backup Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. He's looking for minutes like he got with the Heat and ideally for a playoff team. If not maybe the Knicks and Hawks get desperate and throw him some nice $$$.

Have a sinking feeling that Ainge has once again blown the offseason.no moves yet, most players that could help are already off the board, glaring frontcourt holes... same song just a different year.

If we had kept Jae, he wouldn't have been an active participant in the play that injured Hayward three years ago, so yes.

With what’s left out there in free agency, I say split the MLE between Giles and Shaq Harrison. Need a backup 2 guard with Romeo still hurt and take the flier on Giles at the 4 with him being Tatums biffle

I hope we can get Millsap, good veteran and could provide some good minutes off the bench on the frontcourt

Did anybody think this wasn't going to be a drawn-out process? I said Sunday people are calling me negative. Sunday at this point looks optimistic. This literally no time limit on when they have to get this done.

I'd love to get Baynes back too, maybe Crowder as well could be sweet

Crowder with the MLE, Baynes or Millsap with the $5M exception and Dwayne Dedmon with the room exception, and call it a day. Let Hayward fend for himself. Dedmon gives you 90% of Turner at $15M less.

This, Shaq Harrison should be a target. Though, if they do get Turner and unless R Williams goes, I don't see where Giles gets a spot in the rotation.

Just saw this and I agree. Front court would be something like this

Turner/Theis/RW3
Tatum/Grant/Giles

The Hayword deal could end up a 3 or 4 team deal right? I mean, what if we are find sending him out to Indy but we don't want to take back so much money?

Also, Avery Bradley and Rondo are still out there. DMC too. Philly got Howard for 3 mil after LAL botched the deal. That's a steal. Sure he's a shell of what he once was, but he was recently a starter on a championship team.

But the thing is that everybody is going elsewhere, while we're still dragging on this Indy deal, we can't afford to miss on good guys that are going out there for cheap

Not opposed but have to see the Indy deal first. I’m sure the Celtics are working on multiple things

Take a deep breath. There are plenty of really solid FA options still available. Pair that with a likely trade with Indy and everything can take shape rather quickly once it strikes.
