Trading Lopez for Bogdan at this point given the rest of the roster does not make us better.

If we're paying Pat $3.9m then it was always going to be part of the MLE, I think?
If we re-signed him using early bird rights the max we could pay would be 175% of his last contract, which was $1.6m. That is... not close to $3.9m.

I hope Giannis goes to a likable franchise.

Wouldn’t brook work? Brook + Donte or brook + dJ or brook + Donte + dJ

Our roster will be filled out with Bazemore, Carrol, and Dedmon.
If you told me we were getting all three for min contracts for depth, I might be ok actually.

The point of landing Bogdan was to put together a studly starting five. That ship has sailed. Lopez keeps our D elite and with DDV/Holiday in the backcourt the D will likely be better than last year. Upending that elite D at this point with zero bench is a dumb move.

Ah, thank you. I am frayed by the last several disastrous days and was too quick to judge the financials without thinking that through. Still, not it's just a question of why the hell they're paying Pat that much when they can't exploit his early Bird rights, which just means it's a bad talent choice rather than bad cap knowledge or tax-ducking.

can the league come in and put a stop to this ineptness and save the bucks from themselves?

Actually early bird can also be up to the average salary of the league, which is around $10m. missed that out

No way you have to include DDV and Brook IMO. Who else offers something better than Brook for Bogdan? And you better be damn sure you're getting Baynes with what's left of the MLE and a decent back-up with the BAE if you do this.

Coach Bud will have no choice but to play the starters big minutes every game this season, because he won't have much of a bench. So we will probably see even more disgusted and angry face expressions from him at the sidelines this season.

I didn't remember that either but now that you mention it, it does sound vaguely familiar.

The only last option is to use DDV, DJ and S&T Brown for Bogdan.

Can't believe I went from thrilled to having the best starting 5 in the NBA to okay with Giannis leaving as early as right now within 2 days. They better clean this up. Fast.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - Pat is Back!
The amount of pressure you are putting on Giannis to play C by moving Brook with a weak bench C is crazy.
The original deal for Bogdan was good. We massively improved our starting five while make our offense far more versatile. Now that we don't have the salary to do it, you just roll with our current starting five, which will be probably the top defense in basketball. We can't trade Lopez right now. Lopez + DDV for him would be insanity.

Picked a great year to have no depth with a 72-game schedule in a dramatically shortened season. Go with excess depth and not being built for the playoffs each of the last two years and then finally switch it up in the one season where it might actually be smart to be 11-deep.
