How much cap space does ATL have now? maybe if FVV and hayward turn us down(most likely) then we can go after Bogdanovic.

It always seemed like just NY or Tor for FVV

Knicks don’t need any more forwards. I like Hayward, but he’s a 3 or even a small-ball 4 in today’s NBA. Signing him when we already have a logjam at 3-5 would be lunacy.

Knicks need to focus on the backcourt and get some shooting in there. George Hill, DJ Augustine, Fred Van Curry, Mike Conley, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Buddy Hield... These should be the types of profile we’re looking to add.

It’s hard to predict who’s gonna bust or be overpaid but we can at least target the right archetype.

You can’t draft 22 year old Obi and have him coming off the bench.

You just cant.

Mitch coming off the bench

It doesn’t make any sense for any deal if you want a rebuild. All he’s doing is taking away playing time from our youth.

Knox stinks dude. Let him earn it off the bench of he wants playing time. I'd be honestly shocked if he was still on the roster next offseason. If he shows out in better lineups off the bench or with Hayward at points then great you can trade Hayward or raise Knox's value enough to make him an actually attractive asset. If he sucks then at least we have Hayward who won't drag everyone else down with him like Knox has lol

I was hoping they would trade him to move up from #23 and get Hali or Kira. Jazz were able to unload Trey Lyles to get Donovan

FVV may have been the target all along. 4/80 only way I’m happy. Elite catch and shoot, team player, and plays defense. He that mentality to shine under Thibs.

RJ is going to be playing the 3 and Obi is the 4. Hayward plays both positions. I’d hate to bench one of them just to let Hayward chuck.

RJ 2, Hayward 3, Obi 4

Yes, I know RJ is better at 3. And that Hayward can play SOME 4.

Like that Rose seems to be trying to hold the price down on Hayward.

maybe you are overthinking it and they bring Randle off the bench as the 6th man? Regardless this is a weird season where everything starts back up in less than a month so having vets who are ready to play and ease the rookies in is not a bad thing.

We've learned a lot more about the direction Leon Rose wanted for this team the past 2 days. He's trying to sign FVV and Hayward which means he wants to be competitive this season. They probably wont sign here because Obi, Mitch and RJ are still all unknowns. If they dont improve then we will still suck.

So what does Leon do now? Most likely sign vets on short term deals like last season guys like; Avery Bradley, Portis, Taj, Payton to fill out the roster.

Does this mean we are "tanking" if we get roughly the same players we had last season? How many wins is a tank anyway.

I don’t think the Hawks were ever in on FVV.

Knox is irrelevant cause he was always coming off the bench

Hell no we not benching Obi or RJ. Makes 0 sense for us. Hay would play the 3 probably. Add shooting and another playmaker. For the right price like what was reported. 2 years bloated. Not no long term overpay. I thjnk eventually he goes home to Indy. He got mad kids.

I wouldn’t let Hayward sign for the min. He doesn’t let us rebuild and forces us to bench one of Obi or RJ. I want to fully rebuild and play the youth. Not a half assed rebuild

Must be nice having FO's that have ability, like OKC, Atlanta, Detroit, Memphis. And that's just covering the rebuilders and not perennial contenders like Boston, Miami, San Antonio etc

I'm happy with Leon not overpaying for anyone (so far). Some of the numbers I'm seeing are bonkers. I think when the music stops there will be a few players to be had for cheap.

Knicks again fgging themselves by sliding every player down one position.
