Bertans screwed everything up.

Could imagine Hay and FVV in meetings. You see what that Latvian kid got? Yeah let’s start there.

Knox is irrelevant cause he was always coming off the bench

Hell no we not benching Obi or RJ. Makes 0 sense for us. Hay would play the 3 probably. Add shooting and another playmaker. For the right price like what was reported. 2 years bloated. Not no long term overpay. I thjnk eventually he goes home to Indy. He got mad kids.

I wouldn’t let Hayward sign for the min. He doesn’t let us rebuild and forces us to bench one of Obi or RJ. I want to fully rebuild and play the youth. Not a half assed rebuild

Hayward and RJ let you go positionless bball from 2-4. They can be on the floor with Obi at 4 and Mitch at 5. They can be on the floor with Obi at 5 in VERY small ball lineup. They can be out there with Mitch and not Obi.

It's not as awful as you are making out.

The previous post stating we should look for a more "guard" guard for SG isn't wrong, though.

Because they hire basketball guys and team builders.

We hire the names and brands like Phil Jackson and CAA with Leon because all Dolan wants to hear is someone tell him there gonna get him big time free agents and Dolan falls for it every time.

Rose is gonna make us a mostly CAA team unfortunately he’s not getting any of the CAA stars it’s gonna be his mediocre clients.

Knox stinks dude. Let him earn it off the bench of he wants playing time. I'd be honestly shocked if he was still on the roster next offseason. If he shows out in better lineups off the bench or with Hayward at points then great you can trade Hayward or raise Knox's value enough to make him an actually attractive asset. If he sucks then at least we have Hayward who won't drag everyone else down with him like Knox has lol

RJ is going to be playing the 3 and Obi is the 4. Hayward plays both positions. I’d hate to bench one of them just to let Hayward chuck.

I think you can start games sort of big with RJ/Hayward/Toppin/Mitch and sort of maneuver from there. Hayward played a lot of 3 last year and his net rating was through the roof as a 3. I believe he was +10 as a 3. Granted that had a lot of Tatum involved but even if you remove Tatum from those lineups he was still +4. He still has the chops to play on the wing and it helps take a lot of playmaking duty out of RJ's hands especially if the plan is to run Frank out there at PG.

Also Hayward at the 4 with Mitch at the 5 lineups are going to kill people.

I’ll pass bro. I want RJ at the 3. Dont really see him as a 2.
Plus I wanna tank for Cade/Green.

Yes, I know RJ is better at 3. And that Hayward can play SOME 4.

Knicks again fgging themselves by sliding every player down one position.

Oh, in that case, better trade Mitch, because Obi should be a 5 and RJ a 4

All teams that have shown signs of life. Teams that don’t tank year after year and hire the wrong coaches and GMs and they actually develop talent. Maybe at some point we’ll stop tanking and actually show signs of life so players have more than just financial reasons to join us. I know we are conditioned to think “THIRTEENTH PICK BAD TANKING GOOD” but how has that worked out for anyone since, I dunno, the Cavs in 03?

I think it'd be fine as FVV/3+D/RJ/Hayward/Obi or Mitch

But playing any PG/RJ/Hayward/Obi/Mitch is almost as bad as when the Pistons had Josh Smith/Greg Monroe/Drummond in 2015

From a team building standpoint, this is where it gets tough to fit pieces around Mitch/Obi/RJ
Mavs
C: Horford | Goga | Paul Reed |
PF: Lauri Markkanen | Randle | Tucker
SF: Trey Murphy | Trent | Anderson | Simone
SG: Vassell | Trent | Livingston
PG: Spida | Mann | Deuce
