Re: Rumors and Discussion Thread (NYK and NBA) IV
Hayward is actually who RJ could become. A versatile wing who can score and make plays. RJ is more of a power wing with less shooting, but the profiles are kind of similar.
My point is, Hayward would be redundant. They could play together as a 3-4 combo around a defensive 5, but the Knicks drafted Obi to play PF (he’s a center imo but that doesn’t change the perception of the FO).
We need guard play. FVV and Bogdanovic would fill both positions and bring some toughness and much-needed shooting.

Yes, I know RJ is better at 3. And that Hayward can play SOME 4.
Knicks again fgging themselves by sliding every player down one position.
Oh, in that case, better trade Mitch, because Obi should be a 5 and RJ a 4
I made a fuss about Obi pairing with Mitch but after watching more film, Obi is a playmaker and plays a lot on the perimeter. He plays like Zion. What I mean by that is he likes to get a head start from the perimeter and attack while also playing in the post and has ability to Knock down the 3.
CEO of the not trading RJ Club

Yeah. Which has to make you question the hype around RJ and Mitch. Because good players are easier to fit around.
Mediocre players is where you see fans tying themselves in knots trying to find the fit because...the guys aren't really that good.

And Zion is at his very best as a mismatch 5, so yeah. Knicks should sent Mitch packing.
Or at least inform him he'll becoming off the bench. With Randle, apparently.

Not that hard. Find guys that can space the floor and can at least play decent defense. Open that lane up and watch them fly.

All teams that have shown signs of life. Teams that don’t tank year after year and hire the wrong coaches and GMs and they actually develop talent. Maybe at some point we’ll stop tanking and actually show signs of life so players have more than just financial reasons to join us. I know we are conditioned to think “THIRTEENTH PICK BAD TANKING GOOD” but how has that worked out for anyone since, I dunno, the Cavs in 03?
We haven’t been tanking we’ve just been inept.
Also you need talent to develop it we have very little talent to work with which is why you want to get those guys through the draft who are good enough to convince FA’s to eventually come here.

2 of the positions (themselves) are already compromising spacing.

Knox is irrelevant cause he was always coming off the bench
Hell no we not benching Obi or RJ. Makes 0 sense for us. Hay would play the 3 probably. Add shooting and another playmaker. For the right price like what was reported. 2 years bloated. Not no long term overpay. I thjnk eventually he goes home to Indy. He got mad kids.
I wouldn’t let Hayward sign for the min. He doesn’t let us rebuild and forces us to bench one of Obi or RJ. I want to fully rebuild and play the youth. Not a half assed rebuild
? I’d stick RJ at SG. What would your plan be?

Atlanta seemed to be kind of tanking there for a bit

None of those players are good enough to make decisions based on how players fit around them.

of course he is a bust, doesn't mean in his 2nd year harkless should have been playing over him.
both can be correct.
so who cares then ? and he still was in the rotation the whole year anyway. he needed 35 minutes or something ?

I’m with you on Hayward but Fred van felton and 30 year old bogdanovich can kick rocks too

This 18 win squad is going to be very attractive to FA's and starz begging out of contracts for new destinations

Would much rather have FVV and Hayward make their decision ASAP so we can turn our attention to Bogdanovic.

So they Knicks should just run out any incoherent mess like last year with Fizzle?

Re: Rumors and Discussion Thread (NYK and NBA) IV
Knox has no future with the team, his fate was sealed when they drafted Obi since the 4 is probably Knox best position. There's just too many good wings in next years draft, and on the oft chance that we do sign Hayward he has nowhere to play this season, because almost every small ball lineup would probably be better with Frank in it than with him.
