True. Memphis has shown to be very idiotic in their approach to drafting and team building, so they threw 9 million a year at him because he flat out sucks, but they like his personality.

Every contract given out isn't the best contract ever given, regardless of the organization giving it.

He's a good defensive player. He has no offensive game to speak of and is backing up Morant.

Your sarcasm works when a player has shown any ability of progress in a specific skillset. Melton has been in the league 2 full seasons as a rotation player and shoots works than Frank.

Bogdanovic is 28 and he is a volume 3 point shooter, that can handle the ball and took the starting job from Hield because he plays better defense and has better all around skills. I'm kind of curios to see if he can breakout as a scorer since he wont be competing for shots in a backcourt with Hield and Fox.

He’s not bad but he’s 28. Doesn’t have a long term role here. I rather have Malik Beasley. But he’s off the market now. Quickley is a sniper so we should just start him.

We need vets who can play though. By the time his contract ends he’ll be in the tail-end of his prime and still productive at 32. Just as our young guys enter their primes. You can then make a decision to let him go or resign him.

The Heat can still find a role for Dragic for instance, and he’s in his mid-30s. He’s contributed to the culture and the style of play since he arrived there. That has a lot of value.

Yes, Knicks shouldn't scout anyone and pick up guys who are starting to put it together.
Conversely, apparently they shouldn't sign any vets who are good either.

You're upset we didn't commit 4 years at $9 mil a year to a guy who "is putting it together" by shooting 40% from the field and 29% from three?

Oh, another post about the price when my initial posts were BEFORE that amount was posted.

No, I don't want him at that amount. I though he'd go for half that. Which would have been nice.

I should like Bogdanovic since he's a very versatile all around player, but having watched him a decent amount (but not extensively) I feel like I'm impressed by him like only every 4th game.
It's weird.

Again this is why paying Hayward >>> paying most of these bums. Bogi played decently well on a perennially bad team. Hayward has done it on good teams. Very well Bogi could end up coming here, being over-extended and not fulfilling his deal. Then he looks like an albatross. I think if you get Bogi you have to get FVV but then you tie up your cap in those 2 pieces that very well may not even get you in the playoffs in an all of a sudden way more competitive East.

It's very likely the Knicks are getting used in the Hayward talks, but I don't mind them sitting around and finding out if they are because most of the other options suck anyway. As long as they have a clear coherent plan if FVV and Hayward punt on them, then whatever it was worth waiting it out. I think the Burks signing shows they at least have some sort of idea what they want to do because they signed him at an amount that allows him to be an exception if needed.

He's probably negotiating a front loaded deal, since their playing in FL this season. Gets to save a ton in taxes.

We'll see how he turns out I guess.

I didn't like Portis all that much but yet again, another instance of us having no damn clue what to do with any players we have at all times. Apparently the team gearing up for a championship run thought he fit

Hmm they paid him 15 mill too eh?

F*ck a Bobby Portis.

And, fitting into a role on a playoff team is fine, but that guy should have never been within a zillion miles of the Knicks.

Fair, but even after the price was announced you seemed hellbent on trying to prove we should have signed him.

A Rondo sigining wouldn't be bad if we can swing him in a trade near the deadline to a contender for a late FRP again like we did with Morris.

I didn’t say a word about money, I’m taking about basketball. Portis was a mess here most nights yet arguably the best team in the conference sees value.
