Mannion underwhelmed but at 48 he's a good pick. Needs a serious buzzcut though.

Re: Warriors select PG Nico Mannion with the 48th pick
I found this video on why his stock plummeted from top 5 pick to 48. It was recorded in august and the author still projects Nico in the first round or at worst in the middle of the 2nd round. At 48 he's great value.
His non-physical weaknesses are fixable in my opinion, but it will take some time to learn. I think it's a blessing for him being drafted by a well run franchise where he will have mentors like Steph and Klay. I think he's not the player that can develop in a dysfunctional environment.

two-way contracts are great. He'll get some time on the SF Warriors but mostly be in SC. In the 2nd it's either weak brained explosive athletes or high IQ limited athletes. Mannion has some issues but his skills are far better than 48, so he could work out as a steal.

Son of a former Warrior Pace Mannion who works as NBA analyst. That worked well for warriors in the past.
Good value will contribute in 2 yrs.

From his video highlights...gorgeous pure jumper. Maybe we found a legit backup point?

I think so. Been watching Mannion during the end of his high school career and some of his Arizona games. He’s a talented scorer and passer and willing defender. Quickness will be his weakness, but as a backup he is valuable.
He was projected lotto pick before the college season. Crazy.

A rule change could benefit the Warriors in that 2-way players aren't limited to 45 days, but can play up to 50 regular season games.

Believe me, @ 48 it's a STEAL ... plain and simple.
The kid can definitely play.
Oh, and I meet a couple of times his father Pace: in his late italian years of career (early 2000), he played for a team that faced my town's one too, and I remember him going on fire from 3 on our floor ... anyway we won
Can't wait to see him also with the senior Italy NT.

I was hoping they'd go up to 4 two-way players, but the owners killed it supposedly.

Love this pick.
It reminds me of Goran Dragic learning under Steve Nash in Phoenix. I think Nico is going to be a really nice player after learning from Steph. Best 2nd round pick since Draymond.

Re: Warriors select PG Nico Mannion with the 48th pick
Nico is going to really need to be a great shooter. He doesn't create any space on his pull ups. It's going to be hard for him to make a living on those types of shots. When he gets it going it's going to look good, but for the most part it's going to be tough shots.

Nico looks like a player to me.
Dude looks tough. Also, only 19, should have plenty of upside. I feel like we got 1st rd talent with #48.
Trying to keep my excitement and expectations in check but I really think we may have gotten a player here. Hopefully hes ready to go for training camp.

Re: Warriors select PG Nico Mannion with the 48th pick
Those 1v1 scrimmages are interesting but Mannion is going to have to work more on catch and shoot and pull-ups over contest.
Unless he gets a growth spurt, unlikely to go to the hole that much, where he wouldn't be facing wing defenders but 7-foot rim protectors.
In that case, he has to develop floaters and tear drops because he isn't going to convert going all the way to the restricted area and doing over and under moves on NBA centers and PFs.
