I think a PG like him, one who is the complete package of shooting, passing and defense that albeit is at a level that has been just a bit below a 'star' in reputation, would be the one piece the Knicks are missing so can elevate them to at least be in the mix for a playoff spot next season.

Added benefit for him is status because if he is getting something like 18-8 on a Knicks team that is hovering around .500, in contention for a playoff spot and he is helping grow the young team around him the attention from the media and fans would likely make him an All-Star. Not sure he could become one with the Raptors even if he starts and gets similar numbers.

The Raptors are losing some pieces and they aren't as much of a title contender as they once were so he may not even get past the second round if he stays there. I'm not in his head and don't know his motivations but him staying there doesn't mean he has a better chance at the finals with the east getting stronger at the top, that roster isn't getting him there.
