Potential Signings by Knicks.

Post#1 » by JohnPferdelack » Sat Nov 21, 2020 5:51 pm

Make the Knicks, in this FA, great again!
Which players do you want to see now in New York?

1. Comeback by Melo
2. Brodie or John Wall at PG
3. Tristan Thompson at C
4. Jeff Teague
5....

You are SAS and want to improve the roster. Let your dreams come true!

I think they can sign Gordon Heyward on a make good deal to essentially deal him to Indy for Myles Turner and whatever once Gordon is able to be dealt. Can be on a minutes limit as he plays for NYK and deal him off and grant him what he wants to IND while IND isn't getting shafted by Ainge.

I think Hayward will go to IND and it depends more on the involving players and assets.

None of those matters except Jeremy Lin, the Knicks needs a moral lift from Linsanity

They shouldnt sign anyone. Play the young guys, suck and tank. Lottery pick and 20ish Mavs pick in a strong draft.

There is no one in this FA that would make them "great again." It will likely take them several years of sucking to undo their self-inflicted wounds.

For once, being patient and going into development mode is what they need to do and it's good that they're doing it. Let those other teams go nuts on this underwhelming FA class.

One of the worst things for them is to repeat previous years' mistakes and signing guys to take minutes from their young guys and keeping them from improving, then watching those same signings move on to other teams the next year. Or probably the worst, signing role players to contracts they don't deserve and having them tie up their cap which keeps them from getting the true difference makers when they're available.

Not like fans are going to be watching the team live on the court next season, so just let the kids play. I'm sure a desperate team looking to dump a contract will be calling them and as one of the few teams that can outright absorb the money, they can ask for proper compensation.

So much happening, why are the Knicks gun shy?

They don’t have to make a splash but they could be adding assets/picks while upgrading a few spots.

Not Yo Ham Lakers!

People are going to criticize the Knicks for not signing anyone, but thus far they’ve been one of thr smartest teams in the league by avoiding this madness. Last off-season, they weren’t smart at all. Last off season they were Detroit.

At this point, the only marquee free agent they should throw their money at is Brandon Ingram. Otherwise, better off to stay put and just fill out the rest of the roster, then wait until next summer to see who they can try to convince to play together.

No need for the Knicks to toss money at anyone. Slow build and collect assets until opportunity presents itself and pounce. Don’t be like Detroit, they are acting like the old Knicks.

Yup.

Was gonna say bringing back Lin would be atleast some sort of positive for the fans of old.

Lin worked hard off season apparently to get in the best shape.

Yeah, or just bring back Elfrid. He's a veteran at the age of 26, he is a pass-first guy, unselfish, has decent size.

Payton
RJ
Knox
Toppin
Robinson

Randle
Frank
DsJr
Bullock

Listen, we aren't going to be directionless. It's a gritty 5 and another gritty squad off the bench.

I agree with this. But also keep in mind we want to keep flexibility open, i.e. not much interest or a fa meeting with FVV.
