I was saying Collins, Huerter, Hunter, and Reddish are better than Maledon, Poku and Bazley. You wouldn’t tak some combination of those 4 plus picks?

The point of the counter offer wasn’t that players are equal but at this point in time it’s not worth it for okc. We aren’t selling off players on rookie contracts, especially shai. Okc could make a great offer for trae but Atlanta likely isn’t interested. Even if the value is fair, the timing is off.

At what point is it better to take a chance on a guy like that and overpay him than get another Al Horford with a late frp attached? It’s not uncommon that guys get a big contract they don’t quite deserve and then continue to develop.

if shai doesn't make a leap which would justify the rookie extension he is likely to desire, i expect he'll get traded next summer.

I've often wondered if the Thunder don't get the draft position they want that they trade Shai along with some of their picks to get who they want.
