Hey at least we don't have to deal with this forum hating Myles Turner a month into the season after we figured out he's not really that good.

But this is how you lose a championship.
Probably the best thing the Celtics can do is help charlotte clear the 10m and get a TPE.
Hard to see this squad competing anytime soon with other elite teams just getting better in the off-season.
If Danny had an offer on the table for Turner and McDermott, he blew it. Getting nothing out of this is inexcusable.

Re: Trade Thread #7: The Tide is Turning, but still Myles to go
Ainge has been one of the worst at his position in the league for the last 3 or 4 years. Good players leaving for nothing, awful at the draft, total inability to make trades that give the team a better chance at succeding in the playoffs. Absolutely useless.
He blew this rebuild. The millions of picks are basically all gone and we're left with a very flawed team. And let's be honest, without any superstar. Tatum could become that guy one day, but even that is very questionable.
Time to go!

What about unloading hayward at the all star break? Danny knew he wasn't going to pay him and he knew hayward was gonna opt out because he just learned his lesson last year with horford right?
Not paying that IS NOT THE SAME as holding him accountable for a horrible mismanaged situation.
Danny's legacy is secured.
And he got no kemba to grab this off-season for y'all to latch onto as him saving a situation either.

Probably cuz he wanted 120 m and pacers couldn't find salaries to go to a third team as we didn't want 30m either.Romeiro Celtic wrote:Why didn't we do the Indy trade, man??????

Anyone ripping on Ainge is a fool. If anything this week he tried everything he could to not let it get to this point.

If he was offered 4/100, then the Pacers did not have a competitive offer on the table as I was mentioning earlier. It’s pretty clear Charlotte came in yesterday and probably screwed up talks between the Pacers and Celtics. I’m guessing Gordon went back to both the Pacers and Celtics asking for 4/120 or something close like 4/115, and both were like hell no.
Every single report said he wanted to go to Indy. The only way was via S&T. Ainge didnt play ball. What are we doing here
He wanted to go to Indy. Then got offered crazy money. Then he took the crazy money.
Exactly. I’m more willing to believe the delay over the last 24 hours was Gordon trying to get the Pacers (or even to stay with the Celtics) to increase their offer. Neither bit.
I’m actually more confused why people aren’t seeing this. Gordon isn’t walking away from $20 million. Most players don’t

I was one of the few here that liked Kanter. He gave us 3 things that this team lacks.
1. Low post scoring.
2. Rebounding. (One of the best rebounders in the game).
3. Toughness. Celtics overall are not a tough team. Kanter would come in and bodies would be hitting the ground.
To me, that was a horrible mistake for Ainge at this point. Giving away Kanter for nothing thinking the are getting Turner.
Who knows. Maybe Tacko is ready to contribute 15-20 minutes a game. He showed progress in the 2nd half, even if it was for the G league team. He got stronger, especially in the lower body where people couldn’t push him around anymore because his balance improved a lot. His leaping improved too. Celtics can play some zone with Tacko in the middle. Just maybe.

Not buying this angle, as I think hayward and is family would have sacrificed a little cash to be home. This is Ainge or the Pacers screwing Ainge.
4/100 or 4/130 is 30 million dollars not a “little cash”

Things are going to get very ugly around here now.
There is nothing Ainge can do except pay Gordo 130 mil that would be ridiculous, his been a train wreck the 3 years he was here. What is supposed do? Point a gun at him and say sign this contract with Indiana?
He could’ve traded him at the deadline when the writing was on the wall, correct?
We’ve known he’s been a trainwreck here. To not flip him then was beyond inexcusable, especially after not dumping Irving the year before. I said it then and I’ll say it again now.

You guys said this last year when he let Al walk after taking that albatross deal.
That's not what people are saying at all. He should have worked the Indy deal out yesturday instead of holding out for more.
And how do you know he wasn't? Hayward just opted for the bigger deal instead of signing with Indy lol.

The Celtics/Pacers trade negotiations are completely difference conversation than this. If the Pacers offered 4/100 to Gordon, and the Hornets offered 4/120 to him. Who do you think he was going with? This is independent of the trade negotiations. If Hayward was willing to take a 20 million dollar hometown discount, I’m sure trade negotiations would had continued. As much as we have heard Gordon wanting Indy, the dude isn’t walking away from $20 million dollars.
You are wasting your time with these guys. Your like one of 2 or 3 reasonable voices on here. I think everyone just needs to calm down. A little time out.
