Sure let’s take Terry Rozier back and his booty contract for the next 2 years.

Things are going to get very ugly around here now.
There is nothing Ainge can do except pay Gordo 130 mil that would be ridiculous, his been a train wreck the 3 years he was here. What is supposed do? Point a gun at him and say sign this contract with Indiana?
He could’ve traded him at the deadline when the writing was on the wall, correct?
We’ve known he’s been a trainwreck here. To not flip him then was beyond inexcusable, especially after not dumping Irving the year before. I said it then and I’ll say it again now.
Well ya can't have your cake and fire Danny Ainge too.

Lmfao Ainge got too smart for himself. When it works it's great, like trading down #1 for Tatum and extra pick. But goddamit just make the simple deal for once in a while ffs

Welcome back Scary Terry!!
There's no way they should bring him back now that he's had a taste of being "sort of the guy". He's gonna want a ton of shots and PT

Welcome back Scary Terry!!
According to shams calculator they can get the room by denouncing all their free agents and unguarenteed contracts. I think a sign and trade is wishful thinking.

Somebody would be asking the same question 4 years later but with Hayward.

The Celtics/Pacers trade negotiations are completely difference conversation than this. If the Pacers offered 4/100 to Gordon, and the Hornets offered 4/120 to him. Who do you think he was going with? This is independent of the trade negotiations. If Hayward was willing to take a 20 million dollar hometown discount, I’m sure trade negotiations would had continued. As much as we have heard Gordon wanting Indy, the dude isn’t walking away from $20 million dollars.
When you make 30mil per year, that amount isn't enough over 4 years to convince me his entire family would not rather be home. For us who make less than six figures, it's like taking 20k less for a better job scenario. It's not out of the realm of possibility.
No where in history of contracts has that proven true. Freakin Horford left the Hawks over like a total of $5 million dollars over 3 years, lol. People don’t think of money in percentages like this. $5 million dollars is still a crap ton of money for anyone. $20 million is a ridiculous amount of money over any amount of years. If $20 million was nothing, you would see players taking hometown discounts all of the time. They don’t, and when they do, it is usually like a max of $1-2 million a year.

But this is how you lose a championship.
Probably the best thing the Celtics can do is help charlotte clear the 10m and get a TPE.
Hard to see this squad competing anytime soon with other elite teams just getting better in the off-season.
If Danny had an offer on the table for Turner and McDermott, he blew it. Getting nothing out of this is inexcusable.
Can only imagine Danny figured he had all the leverage. Must have been blindsided by Charlotte here.
Danny put his ego over the Celtics here

He wanted to go to Indy. Then got offered crazy money. Then he took the crazy money.
Exactly. I’m more willing to believe the delay over the last 24 hours was Gordon trying to get the Pacers (or even to stay with the Celtics) to increase their offer. Neither bit.
I’m actually more confused why people aren’t seeing this. Gordon isn’t walking away from $20 million. Most players don’t
People aren't seeing it cause emotions are running high. Give it a few days.
I swear I'm not making excuses for Danny. If it comes out that Danny played hardball and Charlotte came out of nowhere at the 11th hour with this huge contract, then I agree it's on Danny for not jumping on Indy deal earlier and preventing that from happening. But if it comes out that Charlotte had this offer out there, and it's not on Danny or Indy or anyone else. It's on Jordan and Hayward.
I would be outraged if Danny matched 4/120 for Gordon Hayward at this point. That would be terrible for us long term.

Hornets have nothing that interests me in a S&T either. Ainge dropped the ball here. No excuses.

Not paying that IS NOT THE SAME as holding him accountable for a horrible mismanaged situation.
Danny's legacy is secured.
And he got no kemba to grab this off-season for y'all to latch onto as him saving a situation either.
For what another 1st round draft pick? They were trying to win a championship who wanted Gordon heading into a 34 mil player option?
Unless you're willing to debate this from the perspective that danny **** this up horribly by losing a max contract cap hold for nothing then there's no point in doing this.

In hindsight should have traded hayward last season but was the value there? I’m actually surprised that many ppl wanted him

Its okay to admit that Danny got greedy and overplayed his hand

Can Hornets even get Hayward without a S&T? Who can they dump?
