Any chance of a S&T? They can’t afford him right...

Nah, he just wanted to maximize his last big contract and that was not going to happen in Boston. That is why players put in player's option into these contracts. If Boston gave him that money or close to it he would have been back.

Could this turn into Boston S&T Hayward to Charlotte, Charlotte sending Batum/picks to Cleveland & Cleveland sending Boston Drummond?

Edit:

https://tradenba.com/trades/N7AdevMQj

Looks like it's plausible even before figuring in Hayward's new starting salary figure.

Edit x2:

Works with Horford too :-o

Pretty simple to understand but half the board is in shambles just like they were last year with Horford going to Philly.

Rinse and Repeat. When will you clowns learn?

When our clown gm stops making the same mistakes.

You give hayward his 120 mil, come July it's already down to 90 and 3 years which in this nba is nothing

Horrible. Disgusting. Undefendable.

Sickening. This is indefensible. Especially when he could've dumped him at the deadline.

Ainge looks like a complete chump. Dude needs to go. It’s beyond enough.

Cry more. So I guess you wanted a 2nd round pick for Hayward at the trade deadline, the same time he was injured?

Thank god you don't run any team.

No I wanted Drummond who looks a whole lot better then the nothing burger we got.

To tell a fellow Celtics to “cry more” when the team we all root for just lost a max guy for nothing is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read.

Good choice by Danny.

How in any sense is that a good choice?

That is $25m in salary for not really anything productive. Horrible value.

Thank goodness we didn't get Turner. He's ovrpaid and would not have moved the needle at all.

Mad at Ainge that Hayward decided to go with the biggest offer instead of going to his hometown team. The sign and trade to Indy only worked if both Indy and Gordon were sold on it happening.

It's actually pretty simple. Not hard at all to understand quite frankly.

ShermansShoes wrote:Everyone on here calling for Ainge to be fired have ZERO knowledge of the negotiations with the Pacers, what or who was offered. I didn’t see one insider post that CHA was even remotely a possibility. If MJ wants to come out of left field and overpay for a dude who hasn’t played more than a half season of basketball in the last 3 years, well than good for him. If Ainge gave him that deal you all would have lit every Chipotle in Boston on fire. So calm down and see where we go.

That aside, he’s gone with zero to show for it. What is Ainge going to do to even get close to replacing the talent of Gordon when other teams are getting better?

And this is where I make my exit for another few months. Way too many excuses for Ainge here. Way way way too many.

Please respect the right of people to express their frustration. This is their time to shine. When the the team finishes rounding up the roster, they'll stop posting.

How do we know that Charlotte didn’t present that ridiculous offer to Hayward and his agent last night?

Maybe it was Hayward that was holding up this deal because his first choice was Indy. And the Charlotte offer was too good to pass up and he needed time to decide with his family. Indy can wait for Gordon and Robyn for a few more years. He can retire with more money.
Come on dude.

Most likely because Pacers were dead due to Ainge pulling Ainge ****

Or Pacers were dead because they didn’t want to match a crazy 4/120 offer.

I feel like I am in a bizzaro world! I wanted Turner pretty badly, but neither the Pacers nor the Celtics wanted anything to do with matching that offer. I’m sure the Pacers and Celtics were actually the top 2 places he wanted to be, and he called their bluff on money, and neither moved an inch.

Andre Drummond is awful lol. He was literally dumped for 2 second round picks at the deadline.

I mean, we don’t even know what kind of contract Indy was offering Hayward do we? Isnt it up to them to negotiate the terms of the deal?
