Pretty simple to understand but half the board is in shambles just like they were last year with Horford going to Philly.

Rinse and Repeat. When will you clowns learn?

When our clown gm stops making the same mistakes.

You give hayward his 120 mil, come July it's already down to 90 and 3 years which in this nba is nothing

Horrible. Disgusting. Undefendable.

Dude you're **** INSANE if you think we should have given Hayward that contract. I guess I need to put you on my list of posters to never take seriously.

Note to Karalis and others:

Hayward did not have the final say in going to Charlotte, as they don't have enough cap space. They need help, and Ainge is going to comply. That's the frustration here. This isn't a team that had cash and just swooped in a grabbed Hayward and Hayward signed there freely as a FA. It can't go down like that.

How belittling. We are not worthy.

Gordon wanted to go to the Pacers. When Charlotte turned up with their offer, it proved too good a deal to pass up, trumping returning to Indiana. Simple as that.

That is the sum of it. There was no S&T for Ainge to make with the Pacers with this Charlotte offer out there. Hayward was waiting to see if Indy would up their offer and they did not.

 :banghead: Again it’s not about the deal. The fact that it got to a point where another max player wanted out and you got nothing for it is what’s frustrating. Ainge misplayed his hand. This team is now worse off and have very little options to improve. It’s amazing people are okay with this....

Honestly I don’t think Ainge in the end had w chance to make a deal here like everyone thinks. Charlotte make in and blown Hayward away with a huge overpay. People are. Upset because Charlotte kept that very discreet. So it seemed like it make out of nowhere.

I have a feeling this deal was presented to Hayward and his agent last night. That was the hold up. Hayward was discussing the decision with his family because their initial move was to Indy.

Also Red was in a much different era. There was so many less teams to compete against and the players weren’t this money hungry. And there was less money to throw around at players.

For what another 1st round draft pick? They were trying to win a championship who wanted Gordon heading into a 34 mil player option?

Unless you're willing to debate this from the perspective that danny **** this up horribly by losing a max contract cap hold for nothing then there's no point in doing this.
We can't have a fourth max. Never could. Only way Hayward or anyone else stayed was huge discount to 20m max next year. We trade Hayward for a 4year near max deal we ****. What teams have four max pay slots?

We lost the moment hayward opted out. It's that simple.

Most likely because Pacers were dead due to Ainge pulling Ainge ****

Or Pacers were dead because they didn’t want to match a crazy 4/120 offer.

I feel like I am in a bizzaro world! I wanted Turner pretty badly, but neither the Pacers nor the Celtics wanted anything to do with matching that offer. I’m sure the Pacers and Celtics were actually the top 2 places he wanted to be, and he called their bluff on money, and neither moved an inch.

I am not sure the deal could even work at this number between Boston and Indiana without one of them going into the tax.

Damn, that's a loss for us. Danny needs to act.

On a serious note, Jae is off the table, too. There's not much left on the market. No idea what Danny's plan is.

Get worse.

Bro what? How did he not have the final say in going to Charlotte? He was an unrestricted free agent lol.

Ugh. Don't throw good money after bad. Last thing we need to do right now is overreact out of a need to "salvage" this.

Spend the full MLE, play the kids, build their value.

And so Danny's streak of not doing non-draft pick-centered trades live on. (Kyrie trade, 2017)
