With a few minutes to catch my breath and get some distance on it, one thing stands out:

If a team was going to offer Hayward a completely absurd amount of money, I can't believe it wasn't the Knicks. Maybe they're growing up?

Thinking about this really changes my view of harden turning down that Houston cash. Guy wants to win.

Agreed. That’s $20M more than I expected.

We’re not getting anything. They waived Batum.

Note to Karalis and others:

Hayward did not have the final say in going to Charlotte, as they don't have enough cap space. They need help, and Ainge is going to comply. That's the frustration here. This isn't a team that had cash and just swooped in a grabbed Hayward and Hayward signed there freely as a FA. It can't go down like that.

Yup. It is incredible how people on here fail to grasp that.

Ainge bungled this no matter how hard his media cronies and the holy Ainge ball washing disciples try to downplay it.

Hey atleast we got kemba and his bum knees!

There's something going on in that locker room. It's undeniable.

Damn right
It's danny's fault that other gms are so bad at there jobs. Wouldn't overpay to keep kemba but does for oft injured Hayward.

Guys, we just lost a $34 million per year former all star and have no return on that investment. Let's keep making up excuses, though.

Please, no....
Good assessment:

So we'll have the same playoff team that got us to the ECF. But instead of Kanter, it's... Baynes?

If we could have traded Hayward for a few good bench players riht before the playoffs, we probably would have reached the finals. in a way him leaving us will probably be about the same thing. We can use the big MLE now. Maybe work a SnT and recoup a small contract on someone that can help.

I'd be interested in the cap ramifications to taking Rozier back. He's over paid, but he is good. Not over paid so much that you couldnt trade him down the line. Have any of the adults in the room thought about this?

Bingo. I know AInge will come on the radio and say "we were never close" and all that but I think this deal gets done if Ainge does not ask for Oladipo or Warren. Not only that this is the third year in a row that this team lost a big FA.

On top of that this team has has like 20 picks the last 4 drafts and he has just hit on Brown, Tatum and Smart. It is absurd how many wasted picks Ainge has had. This tea

Make all the excuses you want for Ainge but at some point, whether it is all his fault or not, it is time to move on from him.

There was no sign and trade to be made with Indy when Hayward took the much larger offer with Charlotte lol. People are mad at Ainge that Hayward decided to go with the biggest offer instead of going to his hometown team. The sign and trade to Indy only worked if both Indy and Gordon were sold on it happening.

It's actually pretty simple. Not hard at all to understand quite frankly.

It is not just that. Another big FA keep walked, this team has no bigs and zero depth and how many picks has AInge wasted over the years? At some point you have to look to the guy running the team.
