No sign and trade. Essentially nothing for him.

Hayward did not have the final say in going to Charlotte, as they don't have enough cap space. They need help, and Ainge is going to comply. That's the frustration here. This isn't a team that had cash and just swooped in a grabbed Hayward and Hayward signed there freely as a FA. It can't go down like that.

Yup. It is incredible how people on here fail to grasp that.

Ainge bungled this no matter how hard his media cronies and the holy Ainge ball washing disciples try to downplay it.

We’ll see. However looking at shams calculator it appears they can get under just releasing unguarenteed contracts. Or at the very least using a middling asset to get off Batum.

They need to clear about 8 mil dollars to give Gordon just shy of 28 mil. Their only in house option is to waive and stretch Batum for 9 mil a year. Obviously they could attach something to him and send him to a team that can send back 8 or 9 mil less.

In all fairness the Jazz got zilch from the Celts when they lost Hayward too.

Welp another Max contract out the door and not even a TPE.

Bingo. I know AInge will come on the radio and say "we were never close" and all that but I think this deal gets done if Ainge does not ask for Oladipo or Warren. Not only that this is the third year in a row that this team lost a big FA.

On top of that this team has has like 20 picks the last 4 drafts and he has just hit on Brown, Tatum and Smart. It is absurd how many wasted picks Ainge has had. This tea

Make all the excuses you want for Ainge but at some point, whether it is all his fault or not, it is time to move on from him.

There was no sign and trade to be made with Indy when Hayward took the much larger offer with Charlotte lol. People are mad at Ainge that Hayward decided to go with the biggest offer instead of going to his hometown team. The sign and trade to Indy only worked if both Indy and Gordon were sold on it happening.

It's actually pretty simple. Not hard at all to understand quite frankly.

It is not just that. Another big FA keep walked, this team has no bigs and zero depth and how many picks has AInge wasted over the years? At some point you have to look to the guy running the team.

GM for life is starting to look pretty secure. I don't see any single avenue where they fire Ainge or even Brad. When Tatum and Brown leave we're still going to be collecting assets.

Unless you're willing to debate this from the perspective that danny **** this up horribly by losing a max contract cap hold for nothing then there's no point in doing this.
We can't have a fourth max. Never could. Only way Hayward or anyone else stayed was huge discount to 20m max next year. We trade Hayward for a 4year near max deal we ****. What teams have four max pay slots?

We lost the moment hayward opted out. It's that simple.

The bad stuff all begins with trading for Kyrie. Its ALL downhill since that decision IMO

So, we're kinda down to Baynes/Ibaka/Millsap.

Hayward had no bag to take as he doesn't get to sign in Charlotte outright.

Uhh he was an unrestricted free agent so he quite literally could take any deal offered to him...

I'm assuming you're just trolling?

Not when a team doesn't have the cap space. Until the just released news they can get enough with waiving Batum, they didn't.

Hahaha wow. At this point I'm not surprised. Just tank. Team as constructed is a 5th seed at best.

We did it guys!!! This was our fastest complete melt down yet.

Some of these folks are incensed that they are going to have to watch another season of playoff basketball.

Ainge wasting time of brown and Tatum. He is not building around them. He is bringing rookies around them.... at the End Brown and Tatum will leave to a championship made team

Horrible look for danny. Zero excuse for this. You had a deal in place and got greedy and got nothing. I could excuse this if we won a title in the last decade but...........
