Haven't really been paying attention. Ibaka's got to command more than the MLE, right?

Well, I mean actually being more pragmatic than reactionary it’s not really Danny’s fault. Knicks, Indy, Char and I assume Bos, put offer sheets in front of him. Char’s offer is crazy, and him and his family decide they like mild weather, occasional hurricanes and Lyndsay Graham.

Get the TPE and move on. Payoff probably won't come until the trade deadline or next offseason.

How much would it cost Celtics to get a TPE out of this?

Some of these folks are incensed that they are going to have to watch another season of playoff basketball.

And not winning a championship ;)

I mean, try not to be so happy about it.

Franchise ain't gonna fold. Team's gonna play next season. Youth's gonna grow, and we move on to the next opportunities.

Unless New York wants him, almost no way Ibaka will get more than the MLE.

I'd tell you what, Ibaka is solid, but nothing special, never has been, he's had 2 all-star-ish season long time ago when he was presumably like 22-23. He has great agent tho, as in my opinion he's been overpaid for ages, I dunno if the current market will allow him to get more than the full MLE, cause there aren't that many teams with CAP space sans the Knicks.
Good assessment:

I don’t get the it was Hayward’s choice narrative so this was happening anyway.

His choice was Indy.

Ainge balked.

When he knew Indy was taking too long he chose his second option.

If Charlotte had offered this yesterday we would have had the details. DANNY WAITED TOO LONG.

It's the new CBA. These guys have short earnings windows and are highly incentivized to play out their deals or opt-out at the first opportunity. I am not against short-term moves like trading for expiring star players in this context. Worked for Raptors, and worked for Lakers even if AD didn't stay.

This looks just as bad on Stevens as it looks on Ainge. This is literally your 'bff' and dude left you holding your balls to go to **** Charlotte to play with LaMelo and Terry Rozier lmao.

Everytime somebody leaves Boston I just think 'I hope he gets traded to Charlotte'.. This won't even be required this time. Hahaha
WHAT THEY GON’ SAY NOW? ‎ THANK YOU TRUTH!

Again, I really don’t think that’s what people are angry about. Anyway you cut it Ainge misplayed his hand. Wether it was agreeing to extend the talks, not having a backup plan if he walks, or just misplaying Hayward’s mindset. Either way this team just got worse with little hope to replace his production.

yeah it was his first option until he got the 4 years fully guaranteed for $20 million more from Charlotte.

Thoughts on bringing back Evan Turner as a backup?

This.

I don't see why this is so hard for people to understand.
