Hayward came out the sole winner. And even he is going to lose...a lot of games, I mean.
Hornets are still a garbage team. Pacers lost because they couldn't get Danny to bite on Turner and McDermott. I'm not sure how you can call Danny a loser on here though. Everything I'm reading here keeps talking about how he had no control over the situation what so ever...
He’s the GM. This team talent wise is significantly worse than it was from last season. He put this team together and about five years ago had by far the best assets in the league. Hayward aside this team has no bench and no real assets to improve themselves. It’s on him.

Anyone down to start a gofundme - we all chip in what we can, and, if we reach a certain threshold, the sum will go to the charity of JB/JT/Kemba et. al's choice, in exchange for raising this money, I would love to know what their group text has to say about Gordo leaving.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

Next player to leave might be Tatum or Kemba.

Are we pretending like Ainge should have given Horford that contract?
I mean cmon now lol
It’s not about whether or not Ainge made the right decision not matching the contracts.
It’s about Ainge allowing these players to hit free agency, and them walking without getting anything in return. When these veterans (like Kemba) are entering the last year of their deals and still have some value, it might be best to explore moving them if they aren’t all in on returning.

If this isn't proof that danny is indestructible then nothing is.

Everytime somebody leaves Boston I just think 'I hope he gets traded to Charlotte'.. This won't even be required this time. Hahaha
As an unrestricted free agent, Gordon could sign wherever he felt he was getting the best deal. He probably didn't need his agent to tell him he would be crazy not to take the Charlotte deal. If Indiana was offering a good deal (for Gordon, not the Celtics), he would be there now, don't you think? In the end, money usually wins out. What kind of money did he leave on the table with the Pacers?

So we now have a full MLE + BAE available. What's out there? Baynes probably is one. We lack at least one big.

100% agree. But again Ainge can do no wrong so its just not his fault any of this happened.

This board is annoying. Look at big picture. Getting an asset for Hayward that u don’t want wastes money and removed flexibility.
We have a budding too 10 player and now it is on Tatum.
I didn’t want Turner. He doesn’t help us, and hurts flexibility.

Don't really see how he hornets lost. Small market team that has to overpay for players. Hayward is a good players and they have to spend their money one someone.

I wouldn't mind getting Batum as a stopgap fix

Hayward should give his agent half of that contract. What a ridiculous contract.

Honestly can see this all spiraling now, and the franchise folding by December.

1) the fact that people think unrestricted free agents can sign with any one of the other 29 teams, even ones without cap space is mind boggling
2) Charlotte was not being talked about as one of the teams that have cap space
3) the news is just coming out now they can get the space by stretching Batum, had they not, it would have had to be a sign and trade, which Hayward DOES NOT have control over, i.e., "final say"
Happens all the time actually. Teams can make moves to make cap space. Happened last summer with Boston to sign Kemba.
All it took was waiving Batum for them to have cap space to get Hayward.
This isn't hard at all to understand, chief. He was a UFA and took the Hornets offer.
This has absolutely nothing to do with understanding that. There was no news right away that Charlotte had the ability to do this. You're taking new news and arguing over a stance by me and others who were discussing a scenario that has since been clarified. Many news reporters were also not aware of the Batum situation and speculating of a S&T. If that was the case, two GMs are needed to facilitate the move, Gordon couldn't have signed there by himself.
