The fact that we haven’t really made or been linked to salary dump trades should be concerning to y’all.. Leon might not actually have a plan.. saving cap space does nothing for us.. these players don’t want to come here

That’s my main issue.

I might be overthinking but perhaps they feel it’s a negative association to being a team that takes on salary dumps.

Or maybe they really wanna keep the flexibility open to only free agents/trades.

If the latter is correct then we’re fu*ked. We need a GM that is willingly to show creativity in EVERY option. It’s nice to keep the 2021 dream alive but we’ve been doing it since Jordan? Shaq?

Maybe when Giannis or whoever else rejects us next year then that’ll be what ends this sh*t.

it's definitely a concern. you can make the argument that if this was the plan, they should've gone PG in the draft b/c the 2021 draft is loaded w/ wings/forwards but not PG's

1) Quickley has PG skills. He WAS a PG until he ended up on a PG loaded team so he sacrificed his position to help the team and to get minutes. He STILL won honors doing so.

2) FA started less than 24 hours ago.

1. you never draft based on need, you always draft bpa -- that's why the knicks went with obi, now if it so happens the bpa is also your need then that's a match made in heaven.

2. you don't trade for a point guard, all the good ones are kept and the ones traded come with a hefty price.

3. the top pg's next year is jrue holiday, cp3, mike conley, dennis schroeder, and markelle fultz
