You guys do badly want to tank fir a high pick that may not not pan out and if he does, that’s probably 3-4 years down the line. My goodness. Give Melo some weapons now and let’s roll!

you know how we could've overpaid better? next year where we could've potentially had space for two max contracts in a much better free agency pool along with the rookies and a high draft pick.

what just happened is inexcusably dumb and derailed any chance of a quality rebuild.

mitch blew it. unless one of these rookies turns into a top 10 player in the league, we're done

It takes more than cap space to sign 2 max guys . Ask the Knicks. What would’ve been our selling points?

play for mj
play with 2 top 3 picks
play for a team turning the corner instead of one of the most dysfunctional orgs in basketball history ie the knicks
also we could've simply asked better players than hayward to come here. hell, trez would've made more sense then hayward.

we had a real plan to be patient, scoop up talent where it was, and to just be available for a good opportunities... all that's out the window to peak at second round nonsense now.

If we are paying Hayward all that money might as well pay Russ as well and try to get from 8th to 5th in the East or something :D

I like it. Rozier, Zeller, Batum and Monk for Westbrook.

Melo
Russ
Hayward
PJ
I like it better than what got the Pacers to a 4 seed this past season.

a core of westbrook and hayward.... ffs

This team is going to be so much fun to watch. Lamelo and Hayward will be like magicians on the court. I think we have a good shot at the playoffs and making some noise. Let's Go Hornets!!

I’m 50/50 on this. We know they wanted Hayward several years ago. I just wish we got him on his second contract not his 4th.

The team will still be fine to watch with the Hayward signing, even if their is no future, but add Westrbook and we're looking at no future and being unwatchable.

Henangomez is a free agent isn't he? Keep seeing people putting him in our roster.

This is probably the most talented roster we have since the team came back to Charlotte.

We had teams in the past that legit were land locked as 8th seed because Kemba was our only good player and we had no talent that looked like they could develop into true running mate.

We honestly have so much talent right now compared to those teams. It is hard to even put a starting lineup together right now and we have guys that should be getting minutes that might not get many minutes.

We have more young talent on this team than we have had since the team came back to Charlotte with Ball, Graham, PJ and Bridges.

I thought something was off with Mitch continually saying that we wanted to take on bad money for draft assets, but it never happening. MJ wouldn't allow it, he's an impatient moron that will never learn.

Everyone saying trade for Westbrook... we aren't doing that.

You don't have to be either tanking and trying to lose all games or sacrificing everything to win. You can develop young talent and pay vets at the same time. We just saw the Celtics do this... they developed Tatum and Brown while competing for a title. You think they would of done anything without Horford, Hayward, Kemba, Kyrie during that time? No they would have been a lottery team without those guys. Instead they managed their teams financial flexibility and took some risks. Now that Brown and Tatum are signing max deals you are seeing them lose Horford, Hayward, Kyrie etc because they can't afford both.

It is going to be very difficult for Boston to win a title now even with Tatum and Brown because they are making big money. The chance to be really good is having young players on cheap deals. Jazz with Mitchell, Portland did it with young Lillard, Miami is doing it now with Herro, Bam, Robinson on cheap deals... wait until they are paying all those guys big bucks and they can't afford Dragic and Butler to go along with them making pennies.

Otherwise you are just hoping to win with your best player being better than the other teams best player. The chances of winning a title like that are really low when you have LeBron, Luka, Giannis in the league.

You never know what tomorrow will bring. Just look what this pandemic has done to our world.

I want to see the Hornets win, I want to see them develop the promising young draft picks we have.

Sure, another top pick could be great. Or it could be another MKG.

Hayward signing gives this team a chance at some Nationally televised games, takes pressure off Devonte from having to put the team on his back.

It's more money than I expected, but he was one of the top free agents. Not often, Charlotte lands one of those.

Has anyone thats ever been hired by MJ to be a GM gotten another GM job after their tenure under MJ? Seems like being the GM under MJ guarantees your career is over and prospective hires probably know this, which is why we'll only ever get candidates that have no other options. I guess its kind of a chicken and egg situation, though.

Hayward makes other people better. Very unselfish and will play the role needed to win. Lamelo and Devonte are the greatest benefactors from this signing.

I'm moving to Charlotte and buying season tickets. I mean, we got Hayward and have you seen LaMelo's instagram follower count? I'm so hyped I can barely contain myself.

You dudes just want to tank and mad the team signed a star that isn't named Kevin Durant. We still have some trade assets to improve the team further.
