Lakers still need to sign KCP and as I said Batum is rather SF than SG.
As you said if he can still play defense, he would be a good addition to team for vet min.
Wesley played before with Batum.

Batum is not an NBA caliber player in 2020. He really wasn't in 2019 or 2018 either. You guys are thinking about 2012-2016 Batum or something in that neighborhood but that guy is gone forever.

Two years ago he was still productive, especially for vet min.
He's not that old.

He missed a few weeks with a hand injury he suffered in October but aside from that it was purely well-earned DNP-CDs for him. He just doesn't have it anymore, any team that signs him for even the vet minimum will quickly discover he's not much more useful than Udonis Haslem at this juncture. Fwiw he's not a bad guy, he didn't complain at all when he never got any playing time. He's not a team cancer, just washed up.

SG: White /Walker / Vessel
SF. Derozan /KJ
PF: Batum/ Gay/ Šamanić
C: LMA/Poeltl/Eubanks

This is a very lanky team .. We might be able to play defense again lol

Except he kinda threw Stotts under the bus after he left. With all the other additions POR has made at the forward spots, I doubt if Terry wants a past his prime Nic Batum back. He was horribly inconsistent when he was in his prime, but at least then you got near all star performance from him once every 5 or 6 games.

Tantalizing potential.

Unfortunately, attached to an inconsistent motor. There were stretches where he'd look like the best player on the floor, but those were followed by 4 or 5 games where he impacted the game so little you'd actually forget he was on your team, let alone starting and play 34 minutes. He had the unique ability to go from looking like a complete player to completely invisible within the same game.

Batum has been washed for several seasons now. Problem with him is how much mileage he’s had on his body. When he played for Portland, he would play for France every summer and never gave his body enough rest. So while he’s still “young”, his body has been failing him. Coupled with his waivering mentality/motor, it’s not a good look for him.
