I like Jae, but that's too much. These scrub teams are destroying the role player market for teams that are smart with their money.

Just sign non-guarantee deals so we can fight for either the 7th or 8th seed and get eliminated in 1st round. And run it back 2021-2022 season

Yup. And since we don't have that kind of money to spend (waste), we need to wait for all these good role players to be scooped up with these bloated contracts before we can see who is left for our MLE and vet minimums. Makes it very tough to fill out our roster for depth.

Still some nice options on the board. It's very weird that Myers isn't making any move. I mean if the management wanted to just give up this season and wait for next season with Klay back why pay so much in taxes to get Oubre ?

And if you pay that much in taxes, then might as well go for the deepest playoff run possible and give Steph at least a puncher's chance.
You can get Rondo for the DPE and get some shooting with 2 of Korver/Austin Rivers/Gerald Green and also Baynes (and trade Looney).

I'm just curious why you would assume that they aren't trying to make a move after spending all that money on Oubre. You ever think your assumption could be off base? Or do you really think they would spend all that money on Oubre and then not try to do anything else after ownership said there were more holes to fill?

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. This was my initial thought.

If the DPE hasn't been approved yet, they may have an agreement in principle with someone to come for the one year $9M salary (can't remember the exact number) but haven't announced it yet because they are waiting on the approval.

Who on the list of still available players would be willing to come for only one year and for only $9M? Gasol? We know he probably only wants one more year. But would $9M be enough? Doesn't seem like Ibaka would be thrilled with only one year and you would think he has multi-year offers, right? Millsap?
