This is the absolute most stupid stupid stupid stupid free agent signing since Koncak. And potentially just as damaging. I'm beside myself. Can you tell? Stupid stupid stupid stupid. And stupid.

Thought we were set with Dunn but hey, we get a surefire high IQ playmaker behind Trae. I can’t be mad. Still missing one more guy.

WTF?? There must be something else in the works. Surely we don't need 4 Point guards on the roster. Is there enough money left over to sign Bogi still?

It's only a two year deal, so no big deal.

I think Bogi probably has to be sign and trade now. I’d send out Huerter or Hunter for him. We don’t need that many young players.

If I was the GM, I wouldn't have signed Rondo, but I have to admit, the signing is intriguing.

It is overpaying Rondo, but not much, and its only a 2 year commitment.

I have a feeling this is a signing I'll grow to love as the season goes on.

It will be interesting to see Rondo and Trae on the floor at the same time, and if Rondo and sustain his 40% three point shooting, going into this season.

I'm not sure I expressed my dismay sufficiently. Well, you got the emotional reaction part.

But just google "Rajon Rondo" and "drama"... and it takes you to the dictionary definition for "drama."

Koncak wasn't a cancer.

A lot of damage can be done in two months, let alone two years.

Whole lotta better ways to spend $7.5m, too.

High risk high reward type move but maaaaan, is Rajon straight? Like his mind right or only when he’s not the main voice. Again, on the floor talent is nice here but I’m slightly concerned.

Depending on the structure of Gallo and Rondo deals, we can still sign him

I don't get it, but I'm here for it. Our replacements from last season:
Evan Turner - Rondo
Bembry – Dunn
Crabbe – Snell
Parsons/Parker/VC – Gallinari and Maybe Skal
Len – Okungwu
Jones – Capela

All of the experienced players in the list above have, at one time or another, played as well, if not somewhat significantly better than the team member listed on the other side, with the exception of Capela, and taking Parsons of course at his apex.

Hopeful? Always.

Impressed? Not at all, to be honest.

Meh. Very meh.

I understand completely.
This will go one or two ways. He becomes beneficial to us as a successful veteran or he becomes a cancer. No matter what his contract is tradeable.

In theory, his contract is tradeable.

And of course, the theory is vulnerable to the variable called cancer which could seriously jeopardize that status.

But at least maybe he could be filler.

I feel better now.

Again...who cares about how well they played 'at some point' ...it's about last season's production on the Hawks team.

Players play within a range. What seems encouraging one off-season seems like hyperbole the next. It happens.

Never mind me, though. Who cares... about what I think? No reason to.

Meh. Very meh.

I thought I disliked this signing until I read sturt’s thoughts.

Well, trying to look for positives, I do believe this will elevate Trae’s game. I think between Rondo & Dunn, Trae won’t have one easy second in practice all season long, which will have to make him better offensively and defensively.

Plus, having a guy fresh off of a championship run should motivate everyone. I just hope Coach stays on him and doesn’t let him become a distraction or a cancer.

I dig a little digging to refresh my memory on Rondo 'locker room stuff'
Dallas - problem child, he had a real issue with Coach

SAC - The George Karl and Boogie Cousins Saga, he and GK also butted heads, young players liked him though

CHI - he was actually good for the young players, called out Dwade and Butler for blaming the young players instead of leading them.
