Gut instinct would say Lee because Burrell is notoriously inconsistent and benefits from playing in Philly. Plus the defense. But, upon closer inspection, it

Burrell has been really consistent the last three years actually. I'd go with him, too.

I told Tim Purpurra (or whatever his name is) that Hunter Pence is better than Carlos Lee.

Defense isn't a strong suit for either one.

I'd take Burrell for his on base skills.

id take burrell, it seems as if both have terrible defensive stats and ive never seen burrell play lf. but carlos lee has to have the worst arm ive ever seen.

lee: .288/.341/.498
114 OPS+
averages 13 SB a year (how?!)
avg 30 HR a year

burrell: .259/.367/.483
119 OPS+
avg 31 bombs a year
5 career SB

lee hits for both average and power, burrell walks more, lee can swipe a base now and then, burrell strikes out way more than lee (but also gets on base more) and they're both mediocre in the field. burrell also plays in citizen's bandbox park.

i'd probably take lee (might be my anti-phillies bias showing, dunno).
