Elf is a really bad combo of ball dominant can’t shoot makes stupid plays.

He’s not a playmaker — he’s a dribbler.

He can pass but not in a helpful way. He could care less about the Knicks. No way I accept this move.

For the next 3 players (RJ, Morris, and Bullock), he passed to them a combined 19 times a game.

he had this article where he showed that mitch, payton & randle had this great team rating. then he looked at other lineups without mitch that contained payton and randle and they were mostly bad and lineups that contained mitch without them and they were mostly still good. he's not even being honest.

You have a couple more years to develop Mitch, now another young big with promise in the draft and you are gonna spend a crucial year of those bigs’ development with Elfrid Payton holding the ball and making crappy plays, and chatting with the refs who don’t respect his D, etc.

You don’t sign guys to eat up minutes or whatever. It’s fragile. Your prospects will be sharing the court and most of all the ball with an utter bum.

The Knicks are so predictable in how dumb they are. The Payton signing was inevitable.

You always hear the OGs talk about how some guys are in it for the money, or just to put up numbers. Losers essentially. Elfrid Payton is one of those guys. He doesn’t play the right way, he only plays for his next contract. That’s why his teams always got better after he left.

I don't think so. I think he plays the right way. That is the reason coaches like him.

He plays to win. He doesn't play to develop rookies.

But in the current NBA, it's crucial to shoot and be able to finish. Payton is awful. He cant evolve. He is a lost cause.

Although, if the options are Teague, Rondo, Lin, its better to trust the devil you know.

That's not why many are upset. The fact of the matter is, even if he's coming off the bench, his presence will not lead to the proper development of our young guys. He doesn't spread the floor and has tunnel vision. This move just does not make sense at all - even as a stop-gap. Because frankly, he was one last year.
