Idk if you know this, but losing guys for nothing is usually how free agency works. Utah lost him for nothing. We lost Ray for nothing. Cleveland lost LeBron for nothing. Miami lost LeBron for nothing. Clippers lost Harrell for nothing. You see how it works? It's very simple.

I can't even with you right now.

You people.too busy being snark looking for the quick clap back and1 it disgust me.

I'm aware how free agency works.

Are you aware how not fielding a championship team typically cost you your job?

The red Sox have had not 1, not 2 but THREE gms win the same amount of championships as danny and that bought them zero amount of security.

And that's how it works.

I had to explain free agency, do I now have to explain the difference between the MLB and NBA? Lol

I've gone on record like a few days ago, saying that if Danny and Brad don't show me something until the end of the season, I'd be ok with moving on from both. Not because I think they suck, but because I think the master plans have flamed out and new faces might provide new opportunities. I dislike how he drafts and I hate how he didn't try harder to give us a better chance at a ring last year. The Pritchard pick and the one we traded away for two seconds, they could have been turned into a Bertans or D.Rose at the deadline and maybe one of those guys pushes us into the finals. But to whine and cry about him losing Hayward or not being able to build a second championship team is rough. There are so many GM's with so much more resources that can't get one..OKC had three MVP caliber players and won nothing..Orlando is geographically in a great spot and wins nothing..teams like Sacto and Phoenix draft in the top 10 every year and have nothing. The Clippers are in LA and win nothing. New York is friggin NEW YORK and wins nothing. Why sit there and act like this is so easy and the simple answer is fire Ainge?

What you need to do is cut your condescending patronizing vibe pal.

so you feel gordon hayward was going to accept the sign and trade for 4/100m to pacers at 601pm on friday if we gave it to him.

The same guy who took forever last time and up to the last min on a 2 day exetension of his opt out.........

Give me some of that you are taking please.

Yes, he wanted to go home. His wife wanted to go home.

They also weren’t going to turn down an extra $20 million dollars like any sensible human would.

If you become a greedy, wait a full day, and allow other professional basketball teams to move on to Plan B, this is what happens.

This isn’t on Hayward. It’s on Ainge.

i'm glad you know that if we were sensible some other guy would give up 20m dollars. You got the office bugged or something?

To make up for this Ainge is going to need to find a guy with the MLE that will outplay that contract and be easily flip-able for a 1st round pick in the offseason. My leader in the clubhouse is Giles.

He's looked cooked to me every time I've seen him play. Pretty certain he tore 2 ACLs before he even went to Duke.

Haven't seen this in the last 10 pages, just got home - is there a small sign and trade coming? Much less than the package from Indiana, but might be able to salvage something... a protected 2nd is something lol.

Charlotte stretch-waived Batum, believe it or not. No S&T it appears.

Which, Charlotte didn't really have anything we wanted anyway.

Until it's called in to the league, I suppose it's still possible. They could even still waive and stretch Batum, and then S&T Hayward giving us a ~30M TPE if we gave them a first or something. Not likely, but possible.

It would be funny. It has no real bearing on them, but it's hard to see them wanting to hand a competitor a big asset unnecessarily.

Teams do little things to help each other our and build goodwill, sure. But a Hayward-sized TPE is a serious asset. Can't see them giving it to us.

Cool. How many titles? Winning is pretty subjective. Right now he's a good but not great coach who is running an NBA team like a successful college program

are we starting a new conversation or did you just move the goalposts?

Man, would that be rich if he came back, and I'd actually prefer that, plus a $12M TPE to getting nothing.

Get Ibaka or Baynes, and then get Teague or Rivers.

It’s pretty much common sense to immediately accept Myles Turner and McDermott over nothing.

Shouldn’t need a full day and a bigger trade return to figure that out. Ainge apparently is dumber than we thought.

Miami won. Credit to them. They were better.

But the "it wasn't even close" take is so, so lazy.

Is that the same game where he tried to have a slam dunk in bams face?

Sorry man. The celtics being close was actually a anomaly to the series and not the given.

That's not how sports work. There aren't fake wins and fake shots and fake plays.

Miami was the better team. But them running us off the court is revisionist history.

You can't alter reality just by repeating things long and loud enough.

Yes. And the reality is that the celtics were outclassed and outplayed by a inferior team that started it's rebuild years after we did

Main target should be Ibaka now. It's very quiet suddenly. Ainge's backup options probably signed their deals already.

Are you ok? Like seriously?

We had double digit leads and 4th quarter leads in pretty much every game of that series. Aggregate score was tied..that series was extremely close and was actually 2-2 after gimpy Hayward came on board..

Miami is better than us without Hayward, sure.. but it's very close.

I'm gonna say the same thing in here that I said to someone else. I think that some of you are misreading the order of operations involved in a sign and trade. The "sign" comes first. A player has 48 hrs AFTER signing a new deal with his current team to figure out the parameters of salary matching. Check CBA rules. It's in there. They give you the 48 hr window to coordinate the trade with the new team for a reason. And the reason is, THE SIGNING COMES FIRST. Thus, if Hayward doesn't sign the new deal with Boston as proxy to the Pacers' FRO parameters, Danny and the Pacers FO really can't begin in earnest figuring out which players to agree on. Danny didn't get greedy or blow this. What's far more likely is that Hayward's agent explicitly TOLD Hayward not to sign ANYTHING until he did his job and his due diligence around the league. He shook the trees like a good agent and came back with Jordan's offer and then Hayward changed his mind when he saw it. This never really rose to the point where Danny could negotiate and blow anything.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!
