Re: Trade Thread #8: All Gordon things come to an End
I wonder what Ainge is thinking now? He went all in on Turner. Let’s face it, that had to be the reason he didn’t go for a big in the draft and gave Kanter away.
Unless the Celtics think Timelord and Tacko are ready for big minutes, Ainge f’d up. I don’t think this is the case because he was desperate for Milsap and now Ibaka.
He could have still drafted a big and kept Kanter. He wasn’t expecting Charlotte to come in and f up the potential Pacers/Celtics trade.
Ainge messes up big time. I’m not part of the crowd that wants him fired, but can’t can’t nlame those people for feeling that way either.
Any way you spin it, Danny went all in for Turner and thinking he is always going to get Warren and f’d up.
He was so sure he had the deal down that he got rid of Kanter for nothing. I know lot of people didn’t like Kanter here, but he was a walking double double, or best post player and one of the best rebounders in the league. And it was one game, but he outplayed AD and all the Laker bigs this year.
Ainge needs to own up to this mess.

in the regular season, yes. i'd rather just have two way tacko come in. at least no teams can get layups on us then and him and kanter would give up the 3 at the same level.

I'm also looking at Ibaka/Baynes/TT at MLE (Prob not Baynes but he can take less)
Giles at BAE/Vet
Yeah I'm very confident we end up with one out of Ibaka, TT, Baynes. Not many contenders left with the full MLE + starting line up position for them to take over. Assuming all three are looking to win OFC.
Jeff Teague, Bazemore, Saric and Hernangomez would be decent bench pick ups also.

Re: Trade Thread #8: All Gordon things come to an End
I am kind of surprised that some you guys have the Stomach to post on here. This has been truly the most disappointing off season I can remember. We went from 4 draft picks 3 in the 1st round , and are only getting one Probable good player another player in a point guard to be the 3rd point Guard and absolutely no one else.
Only to follow up weeks and months of speculation about Gordon Hayward, to end up with absolutely nothing in return
With a Team that was starving for Bench talent actually may have gotten worse.. Which is alone pretty amazing considering we were 29th and bench scoring
And now we're bringing up names like Aron Baynes and some old 36 year old from Denver..
I'm not sure Boston even qualifies for a lateral movement this off season probably got worse. All while other contenders made aggressive moves and certainly improved their already substantial roster.
Going far in the playoffs is the best we can hope for, and not winning a championship then maybe we might have a small chance. But other than that this will be the most disappointing season yet again.
Danny Ainge Doesn't even have assets or Cap Room to improve in the near future. Welcome to Boston's annual treadmill off season..

The only way any of this makes sense is that we're fully giving the keys to the franchise to Tatum/Brown. Unfortunately there still haven't been any moves to indicate that we're actually trying to do this because we have ZERO depth behind the top 4 players.

Are we sure? I'm not.
Some random guy called Melton that I've never heard of got a 40 mil contract offer today. He would absolutely have been a top priority for several teams! Especially after how he played this past season!
I think people are not grasping the concept of restricted free agency.
Totally grasp it. If you wait for another team to throw the offer thats fine but maybe you get stuck having to pay an extra 10- 20 mil on top because you now have to match it. You won't lose him but you also don't get the discount. Being restricted does not deter all teams especially if its a small market ready to overpay like Charlotte or a crap team like the Knicks.

So we got a Kanter replacement that has Kardashian baggage and is a Rich Paul client.
Excellent. Ainge making the big splash.

Re: Trade Thread #8: All Gordon things come to an End
That’s a damn good signing. He’s a better Kanter, who doesn’t force it offensively.
