They got Wannamaker for less than half what we gave Elf. No good.

Someone should run a credit report on Joe Lacob.

So last night I tried to kill some time by brainstorming what could actually get Griffin's attention for Ingram.

This was my hypothesis. It sounds like you wouldn't even think about it. It didn't start any discussion outside of a single flat out no.

So as long as we're bored, what is the hypothetical Godfather offer to NOP for Ingram?

RJ Barrett
2021 Knicks 1st
2022 Knicks 1st
2023 Dallas 1st
2024 Knicks 1st

RJ & Zion reunite on the Pels, plus four picks in four consecutive drafts. Does that even get traction?

EDIT: Does this get the Wizards' attention for Beal?

Ingram is not that good to warrant all that. The pelicans barely even want him

Did you watch him last season?

I would have given elf’s 5 million to this kid and been a lot happier

yeah i would have loved brad at $5 MM for one year

this is the kinda sh*t that pisses me off about the CAA relationship....objectively, Wanamaker would not only be the better option fit-wise, but he's half the price

Leon was doing his buddy a favor giving Elfrid 5M. no one else would have offered that much

I agree it's a lot, and in excess of "fair". But Ingram is 23 and put up 24/6/4 last year on 46/39/85 shooting, so he's one of the bright young stars in the league.

And I totally disagree with the Pelicans not wanting him. What makes you think that?

We need to re-up Robinson now. It doesn't make sense that we passed on Anthony Davis, because we didn't want to include Mitch in the deal, but we still don't resign him.

It’s like we just signed Elf because he’s around and it’s too much work to find a creative solution. Horrible!

Can we throw Bol Bol a 4 year $12 million deal and see if DEN matches?

He's good, but if the Pelicans wanted him why even wait to max him? Fox got his max, Tatum got his max. It seems for some reason the Pelicans constantly disrespect BI.

I'd want him on our team in a second, but I'm not trading the farm for him for one good season in a contract year.

Wow. I honestly think RJ has a decent shot to be better than Ingram. Straight up. I don’t think Ingram is in this range I really don’t.

That's fair. I think RJ has that chance, too, though I see the probability as much lower than you do I think.

But on a sign & trade with a player this young & good, you effectively have to trade for him outright. The theoretical package has to be pretty big.

Truth is we brought back Payton because he was the only pg here that could run an offense. We all know how bad DSJ was and Hahn said players didnt have a clue what Frank was doing when he was pg.

The tankers dont care about the team being functional, but Thibs obviously wanted someone he could run plays with.

Once again we'll see if anyone can outplay Elf, maybe Quickley can be the guy to finally do it.

If it's not Luka, LeBron or KD then chances are the player that people want to trade RJ for had a similar rookie year as him, here are Ingram's numbers as a rookie for example.

His shooting splits are almost identical to RJ's, he was actually a worse three point shooter than RJ, and PER 36 RJ's numbers are on par with Ingrams second season.
