Forbes sucks. Ask any Spurs fan and they say he’s the worst player on defense they’ve had in franchise history. That’s especially impressive because they had players like Matt Bonner and Nick Novak on their team.

His 3pt shooting %s looks good but Spurs fans were frustrated with him on that end too.

Personally I don’t know much about him but usually when we’ve signed or traded for players that has good stats but their fan base hated them (Brandon Knight comes to mind immediately), it hasn’t worked out.

Unless he only costs the vet min, I’d definitely pass on Forbes.

Depends on if CP3 stays healthy. If he doesn’t miss any games or misses like 5-7 games then easily CP3.

If CP3 misses a ton of games then the latter for sure.

What's up with Bellinelli? I know the Spurs couldn't re-sign him and he was listed as an UFA, and I mentioned him early, but never heard anyone else mention him. Did he sign somewhere else or is going overseas?

also, Crowder is what he is and will be well past his prime by the time his contract ends, Oubre will be 27, I don't hate Crowder but I like Oubre much better even as they are currently, Crowder is marginally better defensively but he never scored as well around the basket or created the excitement Oubre did in his entire career and Kelly was a unifying locker room presence loved being here and he his teammates seem to love him

Teague to Boston is an amazing pick-up for them. They lose Wanamaker, and upgrade to a starting caliber PG coming off the bench for them. Nice pickup on Tristian Thompson too. Some how they made good. They didnt end up having to pay Hayward, he tried screwing over the Celtics as Turner and whoever Indiana packaged with him would have been a nice haul, but in the end they get themselves a decent C and a former starting PG.

I still think Shaquille Harrison is a good option. Improved three-point shot and good defender, rebounder, and can pass.

Not a defensive option.

They could have still signed Crowder but with Oubre around that wouldn't have made sense. Most of the guards they could have spent the MLE on stayed with their teams, I guess you could have tried to outbid Mil for Augustin. So it's Rubio, Oubre, Augustin vs Paul, Crowder, and whatever min PG they sign. Give the the later.

And really basketball usually comes down to having the most high end players and if you get the Paul from last year he's way way better than anyone else mentioned. High end beats depth, last year's Lakers team won a title with AD LeBron and a bunch of meh.

Well I don't think any guards are that are left. Though I would prefer one with the BAE that can run an offense.

That was never happening. Noel has had character issues since highschool and doesn't shoot. I'd bet the suns never even considered him.

But the same goes for Rubio as well. I mean he did miss more games than Paul did last season. If you plan to apply that to one, then it crosses it self out because you have to apply it to both.

At this point, What's really left? I have to say that currently, I'm somewhat disappointed so far ( with the exception of the Crowder signing) With the free agency results? I mean, Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong, But wasn't one of the major selling points on the Chris Paul trade that he'd draw big name/ higher caliber free agents to our team? And so far we've only been able to secure Crowder. And that's honestly by overpaying, with additional years. Otherwise he most likely would have just resigned with Miami ( If not for that extra year. What I guess I find most concerning, is that we still don't have any reasonable depth behind Paul in the event of injury though. So what's left for us in the vets' minimum range ? What should our remaining " realistic " tiers be at this point?

I'm sure all of us love Oubre way more than Crowder but first of all he was definitely going to cost double the price of Crowder. As a fan no matter how exciting a player is more important thing is how efficient and how much a player contributes to winning basketball. Even though i was one of the few of guys here that wanted to keep Oubre just for a year and let him walk next year to keep the band together i'm ok with trading him this off-season. The team just went with a different route with whole CP3 situation. We were going to lose Oubre anyway and yes he will be one of my favorite Suns ever but when you think rationally, it's way better to share his shots between CP3/Mikal/Cam and his defense has its moments but again i prefer Mikal/Cam/Crowder. So i say Crowder>Oubre for the sake of the team.

If that happens it's likely just a trade exemption coming back to Boston. Boston would probably have to pay like a 2nd rounder to motivate Charlotte to do that.

Actually a 20+ Mil trade exception is so benefitial to Boston if Im charlotte they either have to take Batum or Zeller or give me a 1st for the trouble.

For sure. Last year was an anomaly in the career of Chris Paul. If that repeats itself then sure.

And yes of course same for Rubio.

Imagine if the Nets got him. They would Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Serge Ibaka. If they trade for Harden then that’s 4 out of 5 from OKC’s starting lineup when they made finals long time ago.
