Re: Trade Thread #8: All Gordon things come to an End
Honestly, Bogdan is fun to talk about, but just send them a 2nd to make that TPE and call it a day. That'll be super useful to have in our back pocket, and can carry it all the way to next year's free agency, as Darth said.

He makes 13 million. Eric Gordon would be my choice at 16 million.
Depending how much the TPE was, Aldridge makes 24..I wonder what else San Antonio would want for him.

My one concern after seeing the Celtics play against the zone in the playoffs is
Kemba / Teague / Pritchard
Smart / Langford
Brown / Semi / Nesmith
Tatum / G.Williams
TT / Theis / R.Williams
The players in red in that rotation have confirmed they can't shoot.
And Pritchard has as much hype as Edwards did about his shooting ability so he's suspect until proven in that area. Not that he'd see any minutes now with Teague on board.
Marcus Smart is borderline these days with his 3 point shooting though. Almost average which is what you need.
I won't stand for this smart and g.williams slander
Well as long as you sit far enough away to not be hit by the bricks when they're left wide open all year by every team doubling Tatum and/or Kemba every game haha.

Re: Trade Thread #8: All Gordon things come to an End
I think if they got TPE it would be on an expiring guy and not a long-term guy. Just a hunch. I think they would rather have some flexibility to add a max spot next summer, which could be made by trading Kemba.

I hope Nesmith goes ahead of Semi or Langford. That shooting looks tempting.

Agree but I bet Ainge has a target in mind

Wouldn't they just expand it to:
BOS give: Hayward (SnT), FRP
BOS get: Bogdan (SnT)
CHA give: Zeller, FRP
CHA get: Hayward (SnT)
SAC give: Bogdan (SnT)
SAC get: Zeller, FRP, FRP

Celtics are getting EVERYONE!!

Yeah it's not Beal, we are clearly doing this to trade for Luka.
Players that could fit into a 30mil TPE:
Horford
Wiggins
Drummond
Batum
Woo let's do this.
We just missed out on love baby haha

With the Pels trading for Adams it appears that they're trying to win again... Knowing and having a rooting interesting the Pelicans, I 'd be willing to bet that he'll probably be an option in the middle of the season though.

He's still soundly better than TT and Turner. Which is whom his competition in this conversation was. Or at the very least TT is.
Nah! Theis is just a hard worker. I have seen enough of him passing the ball with only butler guarding him 3 feet of the basket. He just doesn’t know what to do with the ball on his own. At least TT can’t be bullied by Bam. Turner is a better offensive player than Theis, and a better shot blocker on the block.
I agree Theis is not as strong as TT at teh Center spot.
I fully disagree on every level that TT is a better player than Theis.
So I guess mark it down when Theis is a free agent next year to see what he gets paid and we can see who the league agrees with.
Okay green teamer. This is why I don’t bother with this forum. TT is a better player than Theis. There isn’t even a question about it. None.

The Nets are spending money as if they're printing it, no luxury tax problems. Joe Harris $20 million per.....no problem...done deal....now on to Ibaka, and we'll still go after Harden. STOP WITH BEING UNDER THE TAX. Enough! Put on your big boy pants.
Get the trade exception at the least from Charlotte and be prepared to really try to use it creatively. Hayward going to Charlotte may end up being a blessing in disguise. What if Beal wants out into the season with the whole John Wall circus? The Celtics could be in play on anyone. No one says we have to use it right away
we used the full MLE on TT, we can't go above the tax apron, which is like 2m or so above the tax line.
Apron's typically about 6 mil over tax line. Do we have reason to believe it's different this year?
could be right, i just think if they can stay out of tax and delay the repeater tax that much further ahead, they will do it unless the deal is too good to turn down.

Yes, one more shooter. Bogi is creative with the rock too. He'd look great out there with Jaylen and Jayson.
Got to be careful and not bring in too many mouth to feed though. Part of the reason I wanted Millsap is because he doesn't need the ball to contribute.
Btw how funny would it be if we went after Horford? Lol

Re: Trade Thread #8: All Gordon things come to an End
I mean Celtics and Hayward agreed to extend his player option deadline back 2 days so he could scour the market before opting out. That seemed to point to them working out a sign and trade deal which is why it was crushing that they lost him for nothing. Would make sense that they are trying to work out a deal now

Gotta say I dont know much about the guy other than he is good. Is he 20 mil a year good though?
Better for this team than Hayward, and younger. Not a very good defender from what I saw, but not for lack of effort, he's just not very strong. But he's crafty and can shoot and pass. Great compliment to the roster, could start with Kemba, Jaylen, Jayson and Tristan.
