Well, there's the silent team I mention, Charlotte.

I guess Hayward wants the easy life with no media attention.

Gordon Hayward has reportedly agreed to a four-year, $120 million deal with the Hornets.

Hayward has some history with Charlotte, as he originally signed an offer sheet with the Hornets when he was a restricted free agent back in 2014, which the Jazz matched  — but this time Michael Jordan gets his guy. Hayward was sometimes the fourth option in the offense in Boston, but the 30-year-old will be the primary bucket getter in Charlotte, so there's a decent chance he could return to the top-30 equation this season. His arrival hurts the Martin twins' outlook and it's not great for Miles Bridges. If the Celtics don't bring in another guy to replace Hayward, Marcus Smart will likely begin the 2020-21 season as a full-time starter.

Zach Lowe: Michael Jordan called Gordon Hayward late last night in an effort to close the deal for Charlotte, Hayward tells ESPN today. Hayward obviously remembers how MJ and Hornets signed him to an offer sheet in restricted free agency in 2014.

We definitely dodged a bullet here for sure. 120 million is way too much to invest in him, especially at his age. We will need something left over if we plan to resign Collins, or another big name.

I love the fact that I didn’t want him and he signs with one of our division rivals, beautiful!

Special shout out to the Hornets for putting the squeeze on the Schmelts. May they continue to falter. “You want another fresh one Danny?”- Tree Roll

Man, I can't help but wonder how good we'd be if we'd managed to swing Hayward from Boston instead of Charlotte. That $120 million deal is hard to stomach.

But having Gordon here instead of Bogdan (and perhaps Gallo) keeps us competitive with the secondary scorer/playmaker, vet presence we seemed to really need.
