They're looking to make big moves next summer, and have a better track record than those other teams at pulling it off.

Yup. They signed a bunch of 1+1 option deals this summer. The plan is Giannis 2021, but even if not they have the cap to chase a star. Envious of how Pat Riley operates. He's our biggest threat currently in the New Morey Era.

One of Butler's roles is as recruiter for other players to follow, mush as LeBron is setting up a transitional swing between himself and Anthony Davis as the next leader of the team. Heat organization is just so goodm and the draw of Miami as a city and no state income tax doesn't hurt either.

I think Giannis would be the only longterm play that might make the Heat scary.

Landing Jrue or Oladipo would be more along the lines of the present, given their injury histories.

Nerlens got more money for that one year than Okafor got for 2

Gasol would be great for the Clippers if he has another run in him

Serge looked good last year, but in the past he has not always played that well after getting a new contract. Of course part of that might have been playing with Orlando, it has that effect on people.

Gasol was looking pretty gassed last season, still has the cleverness, but was moving slow as hell.

Are the celtics fans ready for this type of play?

I don't get the Tristan Thompson play for the Celtics. Bad post defender, switch liability, can't hit free throws. He's like everything you don't want in a big.

I'd rather the Nets get Ibaka than land Gasol, tbh.

Gasol is far more physically cooked, but still brings more to the table than Serge (better defender, better passer, as good a shooter). And he's a big physical body that can give Embiid problems.

Just a few years ago a Serge Ibaka type player was all you needed to make a plodding low post center with minimal defense make a front court work. Meanwhile he was about the only guy that was a legit rim protector and 3 point threat. Man was on to something.

Joe Harris getting nearly $20m a year lol. Again, if anyone needed any more proof that it's time to zag hard on this ridiculous trend of overvaluing shooting.

It is like late in the draft, some guys signing now are dudes I didn't even know were in the league.

Harris was right skill set and right place at the right time.

There might be some interesting guys getting cut or waived and stretched by teams doing financial gymnastics. Most will be trash, but might be a few shiny pieces there.

Just woke up.

Why the hell did Bobcats sign Hayward for that much? I thought they were rebuilding.

They could tank next season and sign Jalen Green.

The ball kid ain’t ready next season

Thats what they’re saying. Shooting has become overvalued and Joe Harris getting that money is a very good example

Exactly.

Gasol can slowdown Biid, we’d be left with little ammunition to go up against their potent offensive firepower.

Kind of funny because two years ago, you were all for trading Embiid for Kat because Kat was such a good shooter.
