They weren’t going to offer him more than a one year deal because they want to keep 2021 options open, which is exactly the right move.

They also probably weren’t offering more than $18-$20 million for one year due to tax reasons, so it’s not as bad on the surface as it seems.

At this point, ring chasing has been put off so Gasol makes no sense for the Raps. Better to try to develop someone younger. We need a rebounding infusion of talent because right now we have none and Tristan is no longer an option.

Unless there are details that we didn't offer Serge more than the Clippers, it's a slap in the face if he took less money to go to LA.

Serge is replaceable but we will definitely be worse next season without him.

They don’t have a legitimate prospect big, so that won’t quite work either. I’d imagine they’ll sign a veteran just to fill the spot. That may be Gasol or it may not be.
