Part of me is annoyed that all it took 2 year/19 mil contract to land Ibaka and we couldn't match that.

Still, good for the Clips, they needed a big like Ibaka. He's a solid, modern 5.

Why would you guys need Gasol?
Zubac is your starting C
Ibaka is the best backup big in the league now

Congrats Clips on this, really wanted him on the Lakers

Clips have so much spacing and not many weak defenders...

What do you think of Trez on LAL btw? I feel like the fit isn't too good

Will feast on bench units, especially in the reg season, but isn't he a pretty poor fit next to AD?

I can see him maybe being okay with AD, but for sure not with Bron and AD

Nope. We have reverted back to pretender status and would be lucky to win a single round next year. Cant see a move out there to change that.

Harrell will do much better with AD than Morris or Zubac lineups. AD can clean up with help D and on offense he attracts a lot more attention than our bigs which means Harrell is going non-stop for lobs, cuts, PNR dunks. He's gonna be great for your offense IMO. He could average 20+ ppg easy with LeBron feeding him.

Harrell is a relatively poor defender because he gambles too much and is undersized.

On offense though he is a beast in the paint and will benefit from screen roll action with LeBron.

He will fit decently with Davis because Davis can play on the perimeter. However, Davis is really at his best midrange and in so that could be an issue.

Didn't the Raptors win a championship? Why not?

Damn

Ibaka had a career year at the 3pt line last year. Look for major regression like Danny Green with Lakers.

Fun fact. Last season Derrick White and James Harden averaged more blocks per game than Ibaka.

Good signing for the Clips but I'm not grading them until they fix the key issue: playmaking.

Ibaka was better on O and kind of poor on D.
Opposite for Gasol who performed well on D.

Gasol would be a good stretch 5 for the Lakers.

Though if Lakers get him Gasol is washed. If Clippers get him then Gasol is reborn.

Hmm, guess we will have to see

I am a bit skeptical, but I can also see a lot of high low action, offensive glass clean ups, and dump offs

Just not a huge fan of the paint being so clogged

Looking at the Clippers lineup, so much 3 point shooting (Lou, Beverly, Kawhi, PG, Ibaka, Morris, Kennard)

Then look at us (KCP, Wes, and maybe Dennis)

Lebron and AD are very streaky

Marc, Baynes, or Dedmon can definitely help. But I feel like we lack a consistent 40% 3 point shooter

I’m not falling for it with the clippers again - their issue isn’t talent it’s leadership at the top. After the historic collapse last year they are gonna have to prove it on the court.

Would be great to get 24 year old Ibaka, but all he has to do is actually try on defense. Something that was foreign to Harrell who regularly got burned just standing still, not even trying to get a stop.

So Clippers have a core rotation of

G: Beverly
G: Paul
F: Leonard
F: Morris
C: Ibaka
G: Williams
G: Jackson
G/F: Kennard
C: Zubac
F/C: Patterson

I think that is not too bad, but they have to analyze how they lost to Nuggets, was it simply a bad matchup? or was it simply because of Murray going crazy for the entire series...

I pray we get Gasol to mentor Zubac.

He will fit decently with Davis because Davis can play on the perimeter. However, Davis is really at his best midrange and in so that could be an issue.

Davis is not at his best when shooting the midrange, actually was pretty poor in reg season. I believe in the mid to high 30%

But he caught red hot fire in the post season

He is at his best when rolling to the rim, attacking slower footed bigs, and posting up smaller guys
