He shoots the ball really well for a big man, but that's about it. He can't switch onto the perimeter and gets cooked in the PnR easily, he's too small to defend post-ups from bigger centres, and he's not the shotblocker that he was five years ago. Ibaka is a black hole on offense: he likes to take shots after getting the ball and he reads the floor too slowly, so don't expect him to bail out an already poorly designed Clippers offense, which is basically guys taking turns isolating. Ibaka has a really bad habit of making boneheaded decisions and losing his temper sometimes, and he moves slowly like a statue because he's lost so much athleticism over the years. Did I mention that he has hands of stone too? Nurse did an excellent job masking his numerous weaknesses with the Raptors (a stark reversal of his time under Doofus Casey where he was just atrocious), and Lowry got him a ton of easy points with his excellent playmaking. The Clippers don't have a coach like Nurse, nor do they have a point guard like Lowry, so I expect Ibaka to be worse on the Clippers while not filling any of their needs for them.

Then Ibaka better prepare himself to get cursed out by Kawhi.

Clippers really need to find a PG who can properly run a pick and pop.

Even though Lou Williams played badly overall in the bubble, he is not bad in screen roll and pop situations. He is actually not as selfish as some people think he is.

Lou Will was great at finding Trez on the roll, because Trez is a great rim-runner with strong hands. Ibaka has butter fingers and he's too robotic to be a rim-runner. He needs someone who will set him up perfectly in his shooting motion. Lou just moves too quickly for Serge.

Kawhi had good chemistry with Serge and was pretty good with his pocket passes, but they will need a guard who can do that too.

You call him a black hole on offense while saying he doesn't do anything other than take spot-up shots or get easy buckets from his point-guard.

Serge won't mind, he's a good teammate. Lowry used to chew him out plenty. Actually, Ibaka being a good teammate/leader might be one of the best features he'll bring to that fractured Clippers roster this year.

But that's accurate. Serge doesn't make plays for others - his passing skills are rudimentary and he can't dribble.

Perfect for the Clippers. They need someone to keep the team focused, squash the drama, and the BS antics. Paul George even needs his mind right.
Lue will be thankful to have him.

Good get for Clippers. Kind of evens up the offseason. Lakers still ahead, depends who they get at C and if the Clippers make another move for a guard.

Although iteresting I was looking at these RAPTOR rankings and they don't rate Ibaka at all: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2020-nba-player-ratings/

He's ranked 129th behind bigs like Olynk, Kanter, Millsap while Trez is ranked 28th in the league.

Good move by Clips, they can't be written off so easily.

Clippers guards are kind of getting long in the tooth.

I'm letting y'all know right now. I love Ibaka but he's a role player without Lowry. Good luck with Reggie Jackson's P&R game, Serge.

why stop there. just take the entire 2019 Raptors roster, then you might have a chance to win a chip.

all joking aside it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to poach many Raptors like Gasol, Lowry etc... Kawhi knows his team is garbagio.

Rebounder? Zubac is still in the team, very healthy rebound rate

Good pickup. Definitely an upgrade over Harrell.

Perfect guy for that team. Too bad Pistons likely keeping Rose because I would think he would be the perfect PG for that team.

it's great value deal for the Clippers. Ibaka at the mid-level, what competitive team wouldn't want that?

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's an upgrade over Harrell, but Ibaka definitely fills the void he left.

More versatile and better team defender than Harrell imo.
Of Harrell, TT and Serge, who all got the same money, I'd take Serge as my reserve big. I don't think he can give you starter minutes at center anymore but he's an ideal bench big for a contender.
