would you look to trade lowry?

Post#1 » by NotMyKawhi » Sun Nov 22, 2020 6:36 am

kawhi and Green were understandable bc we went all in.

But Ibaka should have been traded at the deadline. We've lost a lot of assets for nothing the last two seasons. What's gonna stop lowry from signing the mid level w a contender next year?

idk if we lose Kawhi, Danny, Ibaka, Gasol and Lowry all for nothing, it's gonna set our team back. Why not maximize our assets?

Losing Lowry would be so devastating to me, but if the Celtics traded Paul Pierce...

It's really a perfect example. Them making that trade is why they are where they are now

lots on this board would say hell no but you don't think the celitcs were saying the same? Now they probably couldn't be happier. It really helps both parties. Lowry gets a chance at another championship, we get younger assets to go with our core.

Moving Lowry was always in the cards. His salary cap hold makes it virtually impossible to resign him and pursue a max player in 2021. Its only a matter of how much we are getting back for Lowry. I think we can hope to obtain a promising young player and 2 first round pick.

Perhaps Denver for a combination of MPJ, Morris, Barton or Harris along with a couple of first rounders and a pick swap?

Never. Only if he requests one. He’s our Dirk. You don’t trade guys like that the moment they don’t align with your team goals.

I doubt any Denver poster trades MPJ for Lowry straight up let alone more. Good points otherwise.

Are we even able to re-sign Lowry with his massive cap hold for next season? Or will we have to renounce it in order to sign anyone? Or do we still think he will give us a "hometown discount"

Also how could you say that ibaka should have been traded at the deadline when we were the defending champs who had a legit shot at reaching the finals again even after kawhi ditched them? Use your head man

let the season play out a little, depending on how the team is performing near trade deadline you can make a decision at that point.

I don't think Lowry would be against having one last shot at another ring on a contending team.

Win-win for both sides.

What really sucks about our current team is that even if we trade Lowry, the East is so bad that I don't think we fall out of the playoffs and get a pick in the lottery portion of next year's draft.

He is not giving us any hometown discount I guarantee that. He held out last summer for his extension after winning a chip that Masai got him. You think he is doing us any favours. No way in hell

Why should the Nuggets trade for a 34 y/o PG with Murray on the team and trade MPJ, Morris and Barton plus picks is a overpay. A huge overpay. The only thing we can get is maybe a cap filler, a young player and a 1strounder. But that's it. It's his last year. And rn, everybody is set at the 1. The only team with problems with that position are the Clippers and they don't have any trade chips only 4 2ndround picks

Personally I’d love to. If we could find a mutually agreed upon destination.

sure, if he wants a trade to a team that isn't the Clippers that is cap-friendly for us

This would be up to Lowry. If he wants to stay, he stays. If he wants to be traded, he gets traded. He's earned the right to decide.

The Raps are going to be a good team next year, so it's longshot that he gets moved. It's more likely that he signs some kind of extension.
