They can do a sign and trade. What do you mean?

Can they still do a sign and trade even if they are over the cap and have used their MLE?

Using any of a S&T, the MLE > 5.7m, or the BAE hard cap you at about 6m above the tax line. You can't do a sign and trade if you would be above that line after the trade. Which exceptions you've used is irrelevant.

Why would Giannis do that? I doubt Giannis' list of demands gets that granular.

I like Pat, but the Bucks were stupid to not know they couldn't offer him the first contract and they compounded it by giving him a longer contract at more $. Unless it's severely back-loaded with a team option, but I haven't seen that reported.

Shoot, who knows? I doubt he'd give them an ultimatum like that. My point was that's the only way the Pat deal makes any kind of sense.

Thank you.
And I don't get why nobody criticizes the Hollinger article for this.

The solution he suggested would hard cap the Bucks, which you don't want if you have not finished all your trades. We are not hard capped now, despite him saying that as I believe we haven't used our full MLE.
Besides us losing our flexibility, he is suggesting a double sign & trade which also hard caps the Magic. That is impossible to arrange (and probably they would also ask for something in return).

Am I reading things correctly or am I missing something?

Can't go over the tax for Brogdon, but no problem for Patty C.

Do people really think the Brogdan trade was about the tax?

He wanted to be a PG.

You are mostly correct, Hollinger, as usual, is trying to act smarter than he is. However, we are hardcapped if we used the BAE to sign Portis.

So we're heard other teams had interest in Pat before FA, did we ever hear who? Could the "moving parts" be a sign and trade for someone besides Bogdan?

I feel like there definitely something else up the Buck's sleeve yet, I keep checking back expecting the next shoe to drop.

In one of these threads, or maybe a post I never posted, I predicted we'd take Diakite at 60. Not that he's the same exact player but kind of a Lance Thomas, is probably solid enough to play emergency minutes in a limited role right away.

I could see Pat and DJ for Justin James and Ricaun Holmes.

The defense on the bench right now is pretty concerning.

Getting a plyer from Virginia is like getting a FB player from Wisconsin...fundamentally sound and somewhat underrated

May I interest you in Briante Weber and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson?

There is no universe where Pat is better than Semi ...
Semi is tough while Pat is faking tough
Boston kept him but we could make an offer for him.
I would take Semi over Pat 1M out of 10 , no freaking way
we are overpaying our garbage every efing year
What's to like Semi more ? well he sets actual picks and he could play the PJ Tucker role in a small ball 5.
Pat is a fake tough guy, I don't like him at that prize.
