Re: Presti's Endgame?
Trade Hill get more picks. Draft well. Use Harford unguaranteed plus picks to trade for all star like PG

Re: Presti's Endgame?
Seems like a similar plan to what Hinkie had with the 76ers, except OKC is not all-out tanking.
Horford - Poirier
Muscala - Hervey
Ariza - Jackson
SGA - Diallo
Hill - Dort
With the financial issues that some teams will find themselves in, OKC will be in a position to absorb contracts and acquire even more picks the next few years, while still having enough cap space to try to lure FAs.
Knowing a lot is riding on picks, they are acquiring as many as possible to increase the odds of "hitting the jackpot" without having to pick #1.
2021 is really slim on FAs (many of the best are restricted, like Tatum), so they probably won't spend any significant money until '22 or '23.

He's got 2.5 years before Adam Silver forces the Colangelos on him.

The Thunder roster right now would go 82-0 against the Sixers rosters during Hinkie years.

OKC just has to make sure they don't "Ainge" the draft picks lol.
If by “Ainge” the picks, you mean draft a potential superstar, a potential all star in back to back years plus sign quality free agents and make the conference finals 3 out of 4 years whilst you are rebuilding then that’s a fricken pretty hard task to follow.
Ainge gets **** on for not trading some of those picks plus Tatum/Brown for one of AD or Kawhi(1 year rentals) or PG or Butler (I’d rather Tatum or Brown long term). He’s done just fine

Presti's endgame is to acquire half of the leagues draft picks. Once he does he can win six championships with the snap of his fingers.

Preti’s end game should be traded to be the Nets GM after Harden and Westbrook all came in place

Re: Presti's Endgame?
I get it but it all depends on the talent level in the draft for example the talent is this draft was just bad while the Luka and Zion and great.
I just think luck as to much to do with it.

SGA, Hill, Ariza and Horford are good enough to win 40 games. They need to consolidate the vets to tank properly

Re: Presti's Endgame?
That is a nice collection of picks. Despite the folklore that Presti is getting, they aren’t really that great (yet). They is a big collection of protected 1sts. 1sts that most likely aren’t even lotto.
But if Clippers implode with George and/or Kawhi bolting. Wow they own Clippers future.
But if Rockets trade Harden and suck (but not too bad) they should capitalize on a few late lotto.

They don’t have Ariza.
Horford will be traded by deadline.

Re: Presti's Endgame?
Yes, its Hinkie-like. But OKC ownership will be fine with it because they have always pinched pennies and its a small market. You can get away with things in OKC that you couldn't in Philadelphia.
I expect that veterans like Horford, Ariza and Hill will be moved (if possible) for even more picks and young prospects, possibly beginning tomorrow. I feel badly for SGA, a good young player who will have to endure 60+ losses per season, at least for the near future.

Re: Presti's Endgame?
Unless the Clippers implode, those draft picks are really protected (HOU, MIA). On top of that, some of them are the same pick but stretched between years depending on when they convey.
It's very difficult to draft generational talent despite having many bites at a top-5, just think about doing it with picks after the lottery.
People forget BKNs picks that BOS owned were fully unprotected.

Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Oh we know Ainge did great at the start of this process. It was the move needed afterwards to possibly build a dynasty that he failed miserably on.
The Celtics have been going backward in terms of roster development since 2018 and now they have nothing left to improve on. No future cap space or draft picks.
