I don’t see how that’s a good fit. They need facilitators and defenders and Ibaka has struggled defensively for a few seasons now. He’s really bad in pick n roll situations. Without Lowry , I think he won’t be as good on offence either.

Swapping Harrell for Ibaka is a push when there still isn't a facilitator on the roster to get players the ball while in action. Missing out on Rondo and DJ Augustin was huge. Could the Clippers put together a trade package for a PG?

Then you factor the addition by subtraction of losing Doc+Harrell which means more minutes for Zubac and the other young kids, and hopefully more cohesive team and coaching. I don't see any way they got worse. I'd say so far they only got marginally better, but still likely to do another couple moves. So the verdict is out.

Also why would you need a PNR ball handler to find a guy who gets almost all of his buckets on spot up 3's and midrange jumpers? Kawhi+PG aren't black holes and regularly found spot up shooters. The problem is nobody was hitting the shots! At least in the playoffs. For example as already pointed out.. Lou+Trez PNR feasted in the league consistently for like 3 years. I hate Lou in the playoffs, but as a regular season PNR playmaker he's great. Also Kennard has shown the same ability and if I recall is 86 percentile for PNR ball handler efficiency.

I don't think we specifically need a PNR ball handler, so much as an overall ball handler/floor general type. I want a starting PG like Lonzo Ball or Rubio who's first instinct is to pass.

Exactly. And if he needed a pick and roll guy to get him buckets, do PG and Kawhi not exist? Does Lou (if hes still on the team) not exist? Does Kennard not exist? People keep talking about the Clippers like they know them inside and out and they're getting everything wrong. A guy in this thread said Jamal Murray was the reason for the Clippers collapse. I love talking basketball but sometimes with these people.

You know who would be a dream fit as a backup PG? Milos Teodosic. He was so good for us, but his damn foot injuries man. Was fun watching him play and his passing/court vision is prodigy level.
