This is a depressed economy, though, and thus, a buyer's market for us.
In a more normal year where the cap has expanded several million, and where there were several teams with room, that would not be the case, of course.
And BogBog, while not an All-Star, is certainly in that tier of players whose performance is indicative of being on the rise as he goes into those prime 28-30 years.
So, this is a no-brainer to me. In fact, this is really the ONE off-season signing that I could completely embrace as being of significant importance and well-grounded.
I would agree, especially if we set a decreasing contract, and same thing for Gallo and Rondo I hope. This way, they would cost more now and less while the extension of our young guys will kick in.
It's a very good thing to do when using our cap room and if all those guys are a good fit, it will help for the future, even if the cap starts to increase again.
Now, I have to admit that I was high on this deal more than the other, but in the MIL case, I was not sure it would be a huge improvement as they need to upgrade their bench, not their starting lineup, and loosing DiVicenzo was not so good.
For me, on a lower level, it was the same mistake than loosing Brodgon. Both are baller with very mistakes, and I would say that Bogdanovic is in the same league
If we couldn't have Bogdanovic, but MIL could, I would have been open to be in trade and get DiVincezo instead of SAC
