This is a depressed economy, though, and thus, a buyer's market for us.

In a more normal year where the cap has expanded several million, and where there were several teams with room, that would not be the case, of course.

And BogBog, while not an All-Star, is certainly in that tier of players whose performance is indicative of being on the rise as he goes into those prime 28-30 years.

So, this is a no-brainer to me. In fact, this is really the ONE off-season signing that I could completely embrace as being of significant importance and well-grounded.

I would agree, especially if we set a decreasing contract, and same thing for Gallo and Rondo I hope. This way, they would cost more now and less while the extension of our young guys will kick in.
It's a very good thing to do when using our cap room and if all those guys are a good fit, it will help for the future, even if the cap starts to increase again.

Now, I have to admit that I was high on this deal more than the other, but in the MIL case, I was not sure it would be a huge improvement as they need to upgrade their bench, not their starting lineup, and loosing DiVicenzo was not so good.
For me, on a lower level, it was the same mistake than loosing Brodgon. Both are baller with very mistakes, and I would say that Bogdanovic is in the same league

If we couldn't have Bogdanovic, but MIL could, I would have been open to be in trade and get DiVincezo instead of SAC

Celtics fan Keith Smith is not an insider per se, but he is a smart cookie, and worth following on your Twitter feed, imo.

And having said that, this might explain what's going on behind the scenes that has resulted in further delay.

Also, why do we wanna make the kings experience so darn PAINFUL as Bob put it. I mean I can understand if it was an east coast rival but why do we hate the Kings so much?

I love eveything TS has done. Even Rondo. 4 years of a young Bogdan would be the best of the moves. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed

I was hoping we’d offer a little higher just to make sure it wasn’t matched. Fingers crossed. Heck if a roster if Sac doesn’t match. I think everything is on table if he’s a Hawks

C Capela, OO, Bruno
F Collins, Hunter
F Gallo, Snell
G Bogs, Cam, Huerter,
G Trae, Rondo, Dunn

I’m forgetting somebody. I don’t think Mays will play lol.

We sure better love us some BogBog.... that 15% trade kicker and that player option all suggests we're committed.

T- minus 47 hours. What? I can multi task with the NFL and the Yogi Bogi 48 hours Kings missing watch! Ok I’m sorry but Schlenk is not only spending all our money, and pretty wisely at that, he’s putting the squeeze on the Lakers, Clippers, Hornets, Pacers, Bulls, Mavs, and a few other teams that wanted Gallo, the Celtics, and now the Kings.

Ok Schlenk was doing his job as the quiet guy. Even going in he fooled us to fit his script of being patient at the start. He came out John McClane or John Rambo... brings a lot of lyrics to mind but one of my favs...

I’M RIDIN AROUND IM GITTIN IIIIITTTTTT!

No risk to us, really. Perfectly content to throw it at someone for a 1-year deal, and in effect, stash the money for another go of it next off-season for another talent.

Ok I don’t understand this part of it. If we don’t spend the rest, 20 mill on Bogi and less on a lower tier guy, we can punt the cash to next year? This doesn’t sound right. If this is the case, I kind of want Sac to match and save us from ourselves. I’n confued.

Cap space projected for the next season (2021-22) is $112-$118m as I understand it (... $109m right now).

If you don't make any commitments beyond this season (ie, just a 1 year) with the ~$20m currently being waved at BogBog, then that's the same as saying you have that to spend next time.
