Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Agrees To Three-Year, $40M Deal With Lakers

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has agreed to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers on a three-year, $40 million deal.

Caldwell-Pope drew interest from several teams before deciding to return to the Lakers.

Great News for the Lakers, not so much for the rest of the NBA. As they now have 4 of the 5 starters from last season, with Danny Greens spot taken my Schroder (or Mathews).

That also brings the current roster up to (8) players, (counting Davis).

Lakers still need: SG, PG, SF, PF and C...

And then a couple G-Leaguers (like Giannas' brother) to get to 15...

40 million for KCP is a terrible deal.

11.01 PER last year. Doesn't rebound. Doesn't pass the ball. Not a great defender. Career 35% 3PT.

The rest of the NBA is perfectly ok with the Lakers making this deal.

How does this dude keep making so much money?! He’s been mediocre whole career. Seem to recall he signed a 1-year $20mm contract before he was mediocre. Don’t get the hype. Btw, is this his longest deal of career?
